I called the main Verizon customer support line and spoke with a very lovely and very helpful young lady who was more than happy to pull up the 'Type S' on her system and give me all of the details that she had.
First, and perhaps the most contentious of all the details: The camera is 1.3 megapixels.
Here are some additional details that have already been documented here:
1. Speakerphone (obvious)
2. Bluetooth (she did not know which version, but said that she was sure it was the most up to date version.)
3. Mobile Web 2.0
4. VZ Navigator.
5. Able to download ringtones & able to access their 'Get It Now' system. (again, obvious)
6. Text & pic messaging.
7. Ext & int. display (unfortunately, her system did not show the internal display type or size).
8. I asked her to confirm if it was coming out May 1 and she said that all it said was, "COMING SOON."
9. She said that it did not show any pricing yet, but normally it does not show pricing even if it's due out in a week.
Hope this helps. Again, the only concrete thing here that was not previously settled was that the camera is 1.3 MP, which I hope is accurate. However, if it comes from Verizon directly, then I would have to say that is as good as it gets without seeing the actual phone.
Now, it's up to you to keep checking with Verizon customer service and your local stores everyday for the unknown details and report back here.

Casio G'zOne Type S for Verizon? {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 16th 2007 3:36PM [COLOR=Blue]I returned to this same Verizon Wireless store today and they now have no idea what I'm talking about. Big surprise. They claim it's not in their computer system and no one has ever heard of the phone.
So, I went home and called UT Starcom and spoke with someone there. He said that he does not know when it's coming out, that it's still being approved by the carrier, but it should be out in the next couple of months.
He said that he expects the price to be between $150-200. However, here's the crapper. He confirmed that it will have bluetooth, but that the trade-off will be that IT WILL ONLY HAVE A .3 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA! I said, ".3 or 1.3?" and he confirmed, ".3." He did not know why they had to put this camera on it, but he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
HOPEFULLY, he is mistaken, but if he's not, then I'm sure many of you will change your tune on whether to buy this. I don't use my cell phone camera very often, but when I do, I don't want it to be crappy.
PLUS, if they're going cheap on the camera, then what else in the phone that we can't see is going to be below par?
If this doesn't come out soon and/or it has a .3 mp camera, then perhaps I'll look at the RAZR Maxx. At least they seem to be doing things right.
If you call 1-800-229-1235 and go to the distributor line (I think option #4 on the secondary menu) just tell them you are an independent Verizon carrier and tell them that you have customers asking about the Type S and that Verizon told you to call. Maybe another rep will have different and/or additional information.

Apr 6th 2007 4:38PM I stopped in to my local Verizon store the other day and inquired on the 'Type S.' The salesman had not heard about it, but he checked the computer and said that it is due to be released in about a month and a half, meaning middle of May. He also confirmed that it was going to have bluetooth and that the 'Type V' was being discontinued.
Obviously, I was surprised that he would tell me this and that it was even in their computer since generally from what everyone says Verizon doesn't reveal much before it happens.
As I drove away from the store, I realized I should have asked him to print out a spec sheet. As helpful as he was being, he probably would have done so if it was available to him. Perhaps one of you can try at your local Verizon store.
