Sep 4th 2008 11:11AM Why the Turner hate? It isn't Turner that hates black bars, it is Time Warner. TMC has long been known for showing letterbox movies (back when 4:3 sets were all the rage), but TimeWarner (via HBO/Cinemax) has long been known for cropping/chopping films.

Wow. Where have you been? Samsung is the leading producer of LCDs in the world and the same panels are in a lot of Sony's LCD sets via their (50+1) majority ownership joint venture with Sony in S-LCD Corp. I guess you must be living in the past where the Sony brand actually meant something but now they just live by selling the brand name.
Samsung isn't getting out the LCD business, just out of selling Samsung branded product IN Japan. This has to do with the extremely nationalistic nature of Asian countries. Foreign companies have very hard barriers to entry into Japan which makes it hard to compete in Japan.

Aug 26th 2007 11:26PM Wow. You mention Yahoo Widget Engine (nee Konfabulator) and don't mention the best NFL widget out there? http://www.orbona.com/showWidget.php?id=18 It even links in with the Sirius widget (not included) you can launch that from the NFL widget. It rocks (Mac and Windows)!

Jun 30th 2007 11:00AM Don't know if you were using data on your previous mobile, but if you were getting 20kpbs previously, you mobile must have only been GPRS capable. Long time ATT (blue) user and my Treo 650 and 680 (EDGE/GPRS only) have been routinely getting ~120/150kpbs. Didn't really notice a speed change for me (NoVA).

Jun 7th 2007 3:08PM Silly Apple folk. What "anticompetitive & monopolistic did Microsoft do? Bundle their browser with their OS? Hmm, Apple does it too, so what's the problem? People flame Microsoft for bundling apps, then flame them for not having X app (like PDF view) in the OS. Apple had a browser too in the early IE/Netscape days, but it (Cyberdog) flamed out to be replaced by IE (adding insult to injury).
