RIM's BlackBerry Bold (probably) hitting AT&T on October 27th {Engadget}

Oct 17th 2008 11:27PM I will glue an Iphone on the back and finaly get what I want. Large screen, easy UI, good surfing and good working tools. Any product developers out there?

Nokia's N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition in stock for $493 {Engadget}

Oct 13th 2008 5:38AM OK...this is catogorized under phone. If out and about, without wifi or wimax... this doesn't seem to be able to let me communicate, or does it? GSM, 3G...??

Apple introducing new manufacturing process, MacBook 'Brick'? {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2008 12:33AM I think this is a nice diversion. Apple's core business is not manufacturing.

What would be new however, is a 2 in 1. A 'brick' in a notebook.
- If the key board is replaced by a tablet (remember the stretched iPhone pictured a while back) and can be detached from the laptop.
- The laptop is like a docking station with a large screen, xtra battery, backup hard drive, connectors etc... Once removed, the key-board/touch screen is your computer on the go.

While we're at it put a complete functioning phone in the form/size of an express card. I.e. when removed, it can be used as a normal and fully functioning stand-alone mobile. (Probably not appreciated by the telcom carriers as it keeps the remainder of the hardware out of their value streams.)

Motorola flashes its OHA member card, confirms it's working on Android products {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2008 11:48PM It is a shameful bunch of executives and non decisive leadership that has wasted Motorola image and brand value. They are not even able to keep up or just imagine trying to innovate. How many people and funding in R&D, how many years experience?

Microsoft Research Codex project tries two screens on for size {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2008 11:37PM This, plus OLPC's XO-2, plus Fujitsu concept phone... Apple how about
allowing bluetooth tethering? With the army of developers it would
already be on the market. This was on the message boards early on for the first gen. Iphone
Many use already a protection cover, making it easy to add the second 'thin' touch screen or for those who want a key board similar to what was there for pda's.

Or is it waiting for Android?

While we're at it: overall size not larger than a Mid (i.e.plain 4.8" screen) plus a detachable bluetooth earpiece.

DoCoMo and Fujitsu show off splitting phone at CEATEC {Engadget}

Sep 30th 2008 8:55AM It is a great concept. If apple had allowed a bluetooth paired key board with the Iphone, this would already be on the market.

$5,000 Dior phone: so upscale it doesn't require specs {Engadget}

May 21st 2008 4:38AM It's a bargain!!! How many people jumped on the Vertu bandwagon at >15k$ which in fact was mnf'd by Nokia? And then always casting an eye on someone's new toys and self-convincing that it was still worthwhile...
Designwise it seems about only ok. The mini phone extender is not so novel but a good Btooth earpiece can be convenient... although then you wouldn't be showing off your phone

Vodafone releasing iPhone in Australia, Italy, India, and seven other countries {Engadget}

May 6th 2008 8:34AM Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Switzerland.... the list can go on... all with great 3G coverage and high population density. The market of providers is so fragmented that the EU government needs to look into anti-consumer behavior and force an overall law (as in France) to provide unlocked phones all across EU. The opposite: buy an Iphone in France, drive 2 hours and be continuosly charged international roaming charges in neigbouring countries. It isn't limited to EU as also Russia, China, India to name only a few ?minor? markets are all wanting unlocked phones. If nothing else, LONG LIVE JAILBREAK! Unless... may it be, Apple, that you do come around and sell unlocked phones, even at a premium!

HTC Touch Diamond shots and specs: this week's big announcement? {Engadget}

May 3rd 2008 11:17PM HTC, what is with sticking to the me-too 2.8inch screen? Lower mfg. & re-tooling cost? Hopefully the Raphael will get a larger +1inch screen & key board. It seems no-one is willing to make the jump yet to a UMPC-pocket size tool and be a leader.

Nokia outs HSDPA 5320 and 5220 XpressMusic candybars, wake us when it's the Tube {Engadget}

Apr 22nd 2008 4:57AM Long live competition. If the 3G Iphone gets sold unlocked (even if only everywhere except for US & AT&T country) it will provoke much more than a 1% drop in Nokia's market share. Even the N95 falls short as an attempt for being an inventive or daring product. Being defensive is not sufficient facing companies like Samsung & LG. Perhaps Nokia has been watching too much the Motorola's of the world.
