Ask Engadget: Best LCD monitor under $400? {Engadget}

Jul 18th 2008 1:10AM I got a Westinghouse LCM 22w2. I bought it last year from my local best buy for $349.99. I love it!

22 inches
1680 X 1050
5ms response time.

There are only two things wrong with it that I can see. First, sometimes its hard to make out objects in really dark movies scenes, and second, no HDMI :(. It can still do 720p though. My system is a few years old so I couldn't watch a 1080p stream anyway.

SoCal Edison wants to cover California rooftops with solar panels {Engadget}

Mar 27th 2008 4:21PM I believe in global warming, but whether or not it is actually happening, I'd have to agree with andy on his comments. Especially the "Less crap in the air is good." To me something like this just makes sense. I can't see why we aren't doing more of this kind of stuff. If I had the money I would have "solared" everything I could just for the hell of it.

Intel details the Larrabee next-gen hybrid CPU / GPU {Engadget}

Mar 18th 2008 11:56PM I agree with kemfonok that its a waste for intel. Tell me how this isn't a cell? If the cell is so good why is there a Nvidia chip powering the graphics for it? Cell just wasn't up to it.Now, before I get flamed, I think cell is great chip for what its supposed to do, it just isn't suited well for a gaming machine. If intel is serious about gaming, then they are going to have to come up with something better than a bunch of teenie-tiny renamed SPE's slapped together.
