It's official: BlackBerry Bold hits AT&T on November 4 for $299.99 {Engadget}
Oct 22nd 2008 12:26PM I see no issue paying $299 for the Bold and I would have paid the higher unlocked price if AT&T didn't release soon. If you use a BlackBerry for what it can do then the price is not an issue.
Refurb iPhones still contain previous users' data {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
May 20th 2008 10:50PM This is a very scary proposition and the fact that Apple has locked the iP1 down so tight you cannot securely wipe your data and prevent hackers and other criminal types (as noted above) from getting your data.
Having owned many pda's and SmartPhones I am glad that the one I use does offer a secure wipe option and it can be done remotely or manually. I am not sure I want to trust the remote wipe feature developed by MS and tweaked by Apple to secure wipe my device. There are alternatives available and one does offer that level of security.
Unlocked Blackberry 9000 spotted on eBay with new pics {Engadget}
Apr 29th 2008 1:29PM @ Steffen Jobs - Exactly how did Apple create SmartPhone. Your post clearly implies there were no other SmartPhones before the Apple phone which is in fact FALSE. Palm had a SmartPhone way before Apple dreamed of a SmartPhone, Microsoft had a SmartPhone long before Apple thought of a SmartPhone. All apple did was expand upon the iPod which was capable of contacts and calendar, added some radios, but you still cannot do Bluetooth, you cannot swap a battery. So how is the Apple phone such a sermon on the mount device we should all kneel before.
@ Crash, the pictures may not be on the mark over at BGR they have a better full front picture showing straight on view. Its not always the size of your screen but the resolution of it. From what I understand the BB9000 will have better resolution than the Apple phone.
I could care less about anything over than, a phone, contacts, calendar, web and a few games and the BB9000 can do those just like the other phones.
T-Mobile's BlackBerry 8820 pushed back? {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 24th 2008 9:00AM I wonder if T-Mobile is waiting for the OS 4.5 release so they can put it on the phone out of the gate. If so that would be great for T-Mo users but as an ATT user I want my 4.25 OS NOW.
RIM promises HSDPA BlackBerry, hints at touchscreen models {Engadget}
Feb 12th 2008 9:45AM just bump the 8800 series up to HSDPA, update the keyboard and move on.
BlackBerry Curve 8310 finds its way to AT&T {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 17th 2007 8:01PM Great, yet another (albeit nice) phone but still NO FREAKIN Q9 Global. Where the heck is that phone AT&T, huh?
Canadian iPhone delayed by trademark dispute? {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 14th 2007 3:35PM I don't see why after all Apple does not respect registered trade marks and if you don't agree they just launch the product and let you fight it out (Linksys iPhone). Sure Linksys did not use the name as well as they could have but lets not forget it was REGISTERED. Apple couldn't force Cisco to do what they wanted plus Cisco has a far larger market cap, more cash in the bank and they have some very tough lawyers. End result the might Steve-O is not that mighty.
On a side note why bother with iPhone 1.0 Steve-O stated in London iPhone 2.0 is due out next year so just wait and get the better product. I don't own an iPhone and I do suggest others not buy it and look for a device that is unlocked, user customizable with the apps you want when you want and full featured.
Is this Verizon's PDA line-up for November? {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 14th 2007 3:28PM Its nice to see the Q9c is nothing more than the already lame Q9m minus the junky media based UI (that you can turn off anyways). The Q9m is still offering more than either the Q9m or Q9c. Verizon, sure you can hear me now but its just on outdated always late technology. Gee thanks a bunch.
Microsoft patent app shows off new user interface for mobiles {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 12th 2007 7:50PM Simplicity from Microsoft next we will be able to turn lead into gold after all. I actually enjoy WindowsMobile far more than Palm OS (I have owned many Palm OS devices) and despite being a MAC user I see no benefit of the iPhone, its price or paying full price for the privilege of limited storage space and no control over what I want on my phone. Way to MS and keep on truckin.
What's Motorola planning for AT&T? {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 12th 2007 7:41PM I am tired of the rumors and if its delayed the done so be it I will wait, get another phone or not move to ATT at all. So I called the local ATT store and typically you get garbage in garbage out. First off they knew what the Q9 Global was, that yes its due out and the date they have is 10/18 (subject to change) but they have not been told of any delays. So the next two weeks will tell the story.
