It would be a lot more efficient to have a PATA converter. CF cards are electrically compatible to PATA. That means the converter would just be a physical conversion without the need for expensive electronics and would probably therefore be faster and take less power.

Fan spins up, and machine gets HOT! (something it doesn't ever do otherwise).

Feb 11th 2008 9:27PM Eve-Online looks a bit better on my MBA although there is now a really bad Z-order problem, but still crashes whenever I try and bring up the prefs pane.

Am *still* installing on the MBP, taking forever.

Interestingly the MBA version was ~340 megs, while the MBP one was only 180.
