BlackBerry Storm in action, ad nauseam {Engadget}

Oct 20th 2008 11:43PM If you want an iPhone buy an iPhone. If you want a touchscreen BlackBerry by the Storm. I wish everyone would stop with labeling every new phone the "iPhone killer". I use a Curve now and an LG Dare. The Curve is my main phone, and I use my Dare for talking, the mp3 player, and VZ Navigator that I don't mind paying $9.99/mo for. When the Storm comes out it will be replacing my Dare. There's no way I'd use a touchscreen phone as my main source of email, texting, and BBM'ing though. It just seems too tedious.

Motorola declares white space device testing successful {Engadget}

Aug 9th 2008 1:47AM Ahh the Moto A630. Sold like hotcakes. Had the whole candybar/full qwerty thing going for it well before the LG 9800.

Verizon gets official with $28 billion Alltel acquisition {Engadget}

Jun 6th 2008 7:40PM It's so weird to hear people complain about Verizon's phone selection in comparison to unlocked GSM phones. I'm going to assume that most people on this board are cell phone/gadget geeks. We are in the MINORITY of phone users. Most of the people that use phones just want something they can talk on and maybe text. To that end Verizon works perfectly.

Maybe it's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

As far as the UI is concerned, again, the average user (non geek) doesn't care b/c it's easy as crap to use, and there's no learning curve going from one handset to the next. I am a self professed geek and would no way in hell use that so I got a BlackBerry because it doesn't have that UI.

Before anyone says anything I have an unlocked Nokia N71 also on T-Mobile. Here's a true story. I was in Philly last year standing outside of Wachovia center calling my friend who was in inner tunnel areas under the arena. He didn't answer. I waited for more than an hour before I was able to get a hold of him. Why? Because he has T-Mobile and it didn't work down there. I get inside and lo and behold full bars on Verizon.

Verizon isn't the best, but I am totally satisfied with my service. And I really find most of these "Verizon is teh suck" type statements taken totally out of context of people that matter aka the Verizon users.

In summation. Verizon is not perfect, but it suits my needs just fine. My gadget geek side is totally in love with T-Mobile though.

Hopefully that made sense b/c I do not feel like proofreading.

Blackberry Bold release dates, pricing leak out UPDATE: just estimates {Engadget}

May 16th 2008 1:10PM I doubt RIM will ever be "trampled" by the iPhone. BlackBerry addicts are BlackBerry addicts. I got the Curve on Verizon 2 days ago. It's my 5th BlackBerry in 3 years. I will NEVER buy an iPhone. BlackBerry's are perfect in my eyes, and only get better. Not to mention the vast amount of business users whose needs aren't met by iPhones. And how can anyone be mad that VZW is getting the Bold in Sept? If they waited any longer the complaints would be about how long it takes them to get phones. Man up and come off some coin and buy it if you want it. I plan on it. In summation, BlackBerry ftw!

Apr 8th 2008 1:34PM The n810 isn't a phone. Well unless you're using VOIP.

Jabra's BT3030 Bluetooth headset mimics dog tag {Engadget}

Mar 26th 2008 11:57AM I really like this. I don't care about the wire coming from it. This is an awesome way to have a bluetooth stereo headset and not look like a total dork.
