Skoda reveals facelifted Octavia RS and Scout {Autoblog}

Apr 23rd 2009 5:03AM Autoblog, theres a mistake in your article. The Octaiva is available in 3 body styles: Hatchback (sedan), Estate (wagon) and scout, which is the 'soft roader' based on the 4x4 (which, funnily enough has the 4x4 haldex system seen on a lot of other VWAG vehicles, and a higher ground clearance.) Which has these awesome rugged-looking body sections, the 4x4 haldex system and higher ground clearance again over the standard 4x4.

As for the whole Skoda/Seat/VW/Audi thing, they share an awful lot of parts, and platforms accross the group, with various exceptions (the new Skoda Superb, among others), and the fit and finish on many of the VWAG vehicles are top notch. if you buy within the group, you know you're getting a good, reliable car, no matter what the brand.

BTW, the audi all-wheel drive/quattro system is the same as the rest of the groups, we're just not allowed to call it allwheel drive or quattro due to copyright.

Autoblog: another thing of note, the latest haldex system can transfer up to 86% of the available torque to a single wheel. Just thought you'd like to know.

As for the vRS not being a sports car... sure. keep telling yourself that. I mean sure, its no GTR or M3, etc, but for simple bang for buck, its really quite good. Not to mention that Skodas vRS range/lineup originated from them competing (and winning) in many WRC races. Colin McCrae himself drove the WRC Fabia, which the Fabia vRS was based on.

Google getting more serious about the Gphone? {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 3rd 2007 3:22AM I'm really looking forward to the GPhone. I love google products, they're always intuitive, but simple to use (Gmail, Google docs, etc) and just have that bit of class that many bits of software don't.

Hopefully it wont be TOO expensive when it comes out. And hopefully it'll be on 02 in the UK... by FAR the best network coverage.
