Genius introduces G-Pen M712 / M609 pen tablets {Engadget}

Apr 25th 2008 9:26PM I wish there was more competition in the input tablet market today. As it is now, Wacom is the only true player and their products are way over priced because of it. I use the Intuos3 6 x 11 at work (which is incredible)... I want to get one for myself at home, but I can't swing it at $370 new. Maybe I'll try ebay or amazon or buy.com.

I was going to say the same thing... a pair of cufflinks would be *very* nice. I have a couple of old PBs that I may use just for this...

Debunk: Yes, Virginia, the iPhone libtiff exploit can also be used for mischief {Engadget}

Nov 18th 2007 11:54PM What has been overlooked here (and mentioned only in passing in the video) is that this exploit requires SSH in order to be of any use, and SSH has to be installed and configured on the iPhone BY THE USER.

This isn't meant to belittle the seriousness of this exploit (because it is -- or was -- a serious exploit), but even with a compromised iPhone an attacker cannot gain access if the owner hasn't first installed SSH, or some other application that will allow remote access. I have a feeling that your rank-and-file iPhone users won't be up late figuring out how to install SSH onto it.

Samsung's Croix: yet another 'iPhone rival' {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 4th 2007 3:18AM No one said that Apple is the only company allowed to make "that kind of phone." The point is if you're going to make "that kind of phone," at least make some attempt to make it distinct and new, and not come off as another clone.

Tell me, how many companies were making large-screen phones with a touch interface and a single button on the face before the iPhone? How many are making them now?
