Simplify Music for iPhone fixes nasty demo mode {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
May 15th 2009 9:15PM David, we just searched under your name and for keywords like "license" and couldn't find your message. Yours is novel problem, so it is unlikely we can resolve it via blog comment, but there is one thing to check. Do you have a Simplify plist file? Go to user/Library/Preferences. You should see a series of com.apple preference files; look for com.simplifymedia.Manager.plist.
If you don't have the file, something about your system is blocking its creation. Perhaps it is a permission issue, but, since this is new for us, it is hard to say. Please use our contact us form and we will try to sort this out on Monday. We can certainly try sending you one to see if that helps.
If you do have the file, there is still a mystery around why the initial values are not being set, but please try entering these commands (one at a time) in a terminal window to see if that resolves the problem:
defaults write com.simplifymedia.Manager "Peer Location" "My Mac"
defaults write com.simplifymedia.Manager "Files Sharing" -int 1
This will bypass the license screen but you may get stuck again at a later stage. If so, please let us know.

Aug 14th 2008 4:57PM @jonathan, that is our plan.
@moo, raphael is correct. the initial scan and sync takes some time (or lots of time with huge libraries) but, after that, the information is cached. playlists show up only after the scan is complete.
@ian, send us a mail if the problem continues
@mcg, we stream adaptively, and EDGE quality varies
iPhone SDK - What you need to know {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 6th 2008 8:38PM Yoda, most apps range between a few hundred K and a few MB. Our app is on the larger side at 2.9 MB but it lets you access all of your music wherever you have a WiFi connection. Since you can also play from up to 30 friends, this could be 100GB of songs or (much) more. We think it is a fair trade-off for your 3MB of space ;)

What do you expect from Thursday? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 3rd 2008 12:56PM The OP hits on the right questions, but one I am curious about is whether Apple will require that it becomes the sole distributor of an application as part of a release agreement. In other words, will developers have to choose between official channels and jailbreak-only -- or, can both co-exisit. I guess we will all know more in 3 days (or 3 months).

Feb 22nd 2008 10:26AM I guess I should go read the patent but, as described, this seems like another great example of the need for patent reform. How could the examiner not view this as obvious?
