T-Mobile adds Nokia 6301 and Samsung t339 to HotSpot @Home stable {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 28th 2008 12:09PM bjsguess, just to chime on pricing on the t339, the guy at my local store gave me a similar quote: $159 - $50 "upgrade discount" - $50 MIR. I wasn't happy with the features over my current t509.

My main thing with this phone is talk time of 6 hours and the wi-fi feature. Never had a flip phone and not a fan of the color. Only thing I was impressed with was I was told the wi-fi upgrade for my 3-line family plan would be $9.99 for all three lines which is a damned good deal, if that was in fact true.

Worst parents in the world punk kid into thinking he got an Xbox 360 {Engadget}

Mar 1st 2008 2:21PM One Apple fan boy to another...daguibear, I just ask that when you graduate from college try and get job on your own (i.e. don't work at your parent's insurance or real estate company) without using your name to get a foot in the door. The extravagance speaks for itself.

16-year-old converts gas truck to electric, reminds us of our wasted youth {Engadget}

Jan 27th 2008 8:00PM IIRC, electric motors are somewhere in the 90% efficiency range and combustion is somewhere near 25%?

Has anyone done a complete comparison of both systems, electric vs. petro? And I mean from drilling the oil to refinement and distribution vs. producing electricity, transmitting it, and the losses of charging a battery.

How would you change the Apple TV? {Engadget}

Aug 12th 2007 9:26PM I meant to say HD...1080x

How would you change the Apple TV? {Engadget}

Aug 12th 2007 9:23PM Good call, except I'm sure Apple will turn iTunes into a Netflix of their own. As long as the flix come in H.264 I wouldn't complain.

Microsoft officially adds HDMI to Xbox 360 Premium {Engadget}

Aug 9th 2007 12:50AM My opinion...people didn't put enough pressure on M$ and dove into the console...thus, shafting themselves. I held out, initial reason was price. Then, who would buy a first version of anything M$ (or any version)? Then, 90nm was what year's (2005?) technology with them refusing to update it until now? I think it comes down to lack of innovation and passion in the product by management (I'll use the unveil of the Halo box as an example...at least show it in some case 'stead of picking it up by hand like some baby or something...Steve Jobs didn't pull an AppleTV or iMac out of his ass, it was showcased). Then rrod...I mean it just goes on. Waiting sucks, but I think it was well worth it. Sorry, I like to have confidence in the products I buy.

Side question? Anyone know if the power cinder-block is any smaller!?

Microsoft officially adds HDMI to Xbox 360 Premium {Engadget}

Aug 9th 2007 12:38AM Yeah, I don't get it...price difference between top tiers was $80, now it's a $100? So the price of 100GB additional hard drive space went UP by $20 (or is it the shortage of black plastic)? Don't forget the Elite had an HDMI advantage (in terms of features, I'm not getting into it being better than component). Those MBA's at M$ must have gotten online degrees, unless my CPA is failing me.

Peter Moore resigns as head of Xbox {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2007 5:44PM You mean like that knockout performance he gave at E3, where there was dead silence at the unveiling of the Halo console? Please tell me you're kidding, the guy has no finesse whatsoever.

Microsoft plans on slashing 360 to "mass market price point" {Engadget}

Jul 12th 2007 12:46PM I couldn't have said it better. I'm surprised anyone buys a 360 with the defect rate and price. I have been holding out until 65nm, and to tell you the truth, I will go into it with the expectation my game play be interrupted for a few days even still. MS has the content and online service very solid it seems. The barrier to entry is where they are really screwing up, the console!

Is it me or are the execs arrogant? The E3 unveil of the Halo console was...LAME! These execs clearly are more into selling "units" than creating a kick a$$ user experience.

If this were an Apple product, you would never hear the end of 90nm, no wi-fi, no high-def drive, taking how long to respond to the purported 30% rrod? I don't understand the immunity MS holds.
