Rumor: Apple event September 9th, tablet not included {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Aug 18th 2009 8:09AM The rumor of an event of a rumored product. This is not a blog, it is a feeding frenzy.
Munster: Apple suppliers negotiating parts deals for sub-$700 tablet {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
May 21st 2009 6:49PM Talking about a generic tablet is insane as the form factor depends on the use case and no one has articulated one.
I can see an e-book reader, but then that is what we should be talking about. A general purpose tablet is neither fish nor fowl, and I seriously doubt Apple would put something out without thinking about every use case scenario, UI and the interaction design.

New iPhone in June? Somebody seems to think so {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 3rd 2009 12:52PM It may be worth remembering the problems Apple had with pixel density and screen configuration on the nano evolution (fat nano, etc). And this for a device with no application base or the complexity of an iPhone.
So the screen size and pixel density will be fixed for a while as this is also common to the IPT.

@Don: would you hold a 8_10" slab to your ear?
It is a niche exercise or a hobby, note the Nokia 810.
Many people have tried a "companion" including the recently aborted Palm Foleo. A waste of time.
Domo arigato, the iPhone is coming to Japan {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 4th 2008 1:21PM One thing unique to Japan is that because of a lack of 2G, there will be a need to force the phone to stay in 3G mode while the default is to revert to GSM when W-CDMA is lost (even in mid-call). So there may be a special F/W switch for that, otherwise it will drain the battery much faster.

Apple getting cocky? More Macbook wifi problems. {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}
Dec 12th 2007 12:14PM Most definitely Apple is slacking on quality control. The day before launch Apple pulled the plug on Time Machine working with a network drive, which speaks volumes on this. The problem is still not fixed, in fact I went and bought an Airport Extreme Gigabit, which is now a boat anchor as it randomly drops the mounted drive (back to ugly Linksys, but it works).
The Apple message board is full of people like me ranting about this, but seems to have no effect.
iPhone crosses the puddle. 3G missing in action. {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 18th 2007 11:06PM For those thinking that 3G doesn't exist in the US, in fact AT&T skipped 384 kbps and went straight to HSDPA. It is not built out as much and I do believe that Apple did not want to risk a large screen and 3G power drain (even the N95 screen is much smaller, and I am sure not as much a drain). Verizon and Sprint have networks consistently faster than HSDPA (typically 7-800 kbps), so this is really not a question of US vs. Europe.
As to lack of EDGE on O2, I am puzzled as to why this is an issue with Apple as the latest Blackerry on O2 (e.g. Curve) does not have 3G, so this has to be an ongoing problem for O2 business users who need their Blackberries to work.
FCC approves WiFi-equipped BlackBerry {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 9th 2007 9:27AM Having WiFi and being able to run hotspot@home are two different things. hotspot@home requires a protocol stack in the phone to tunnel a GSM connection over WiFi.
