New DROID ads show off Android, will make a man out of you {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 9th 2009 2:42PM I'd agree the 3rd one is a bit stupid, but I don't think the first two are too off-putting. I like these adds a hell of a lot more than the Pre adds. I think Palm totally screwed the pooch on their adds as most people I talk to only remember the creepy lady and nothing about what the phone actually DOES. While these certainly feel targeted at the male demographic, at least they're picking a horse to ride. It didn't feel like Palm was talking to anyone.

Clearwire says it's not married to WiMAX for 4G, would be easy to switch {Engadget}
Sep 16th 2009 8:06PM Exactly! While the network might be flexible, the chip in the users device is most certainly not. So, if they want to make that switch, better do it quick.
HP ENVY 13 and 15 bring luxury to the everyman, look like MacBooks {Engadget}
Sep 15th 2009 3:49AM Epic Fail HP. Way to destroy what little was left of the Voodoo brand. The Voodoo Envy 133 and it's carbon fiber case was a gorgeous machine. All it needed was the 15" variant and updated components and it would've been a killer machine. Instead, you just mimic Apple and show you have zero originality. Very sad.
Sony announces new PS3 motion controller {Engadget}
Jun 2nd 2009 4:39PM My preference would be for this thing over either Natal or the Wii. The facial recognition is very cool w/the 360, but its rare that anyone but me plays my 360, so no added value there. Full body motion control sounds cool, but all of the uses MS showed are way too gimmicky and things I'd never do. My exact thought when I saw Natal was "sorry, but I need buttons". Imagine trying to play even half your favorite games without buttons. Plus, the Wii has shown gamers don't REALLY want to get up and dance all around to play a game.
"Insider" Sprint doc details the Palm Pre for new users, other boring minutiae {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 27th 2009 3:02PM If this truly does require a SIMPLY Everything plan (and not just an Everything plan...i.e. the $99 plan vs. any data plan), then Sprint is really going to squash their only hope of a comeback-kid winner here. Sprint/Palm have a hard enough time convincing customers to ignore the iPhone hype for the Pre, but to suggest you have to pay $99 minimum is obsurd. Hopefully this is a lost in translation moment and it just means you must have an Everything data plan which in turn was translated to Simply Everything.

Apr 23rd 2009 2:15PM I liked the multiplayer in the first AVP...there was a horde-like mode where you start at a crashed ship and make your way through a cavern to a little shack in a big crater.
