Because the average American is drowning in debt and could not afford the high up-front cost of the first generation iPhone, AT&T/Apple changed the iPhone 3G pricing model to pay now, hemorrhage later. (The combined plan & phone is more expensive over the term of the contract than the first generation model.) Sure you may have saved in the short run, but AT&T and Herr Jobs have commandeered your wallet for the next two years.

Jun 29th 2007 9:40PM AT&T LG CU 500 in Provo, Utah running the Opera Mini browser. The first two times I ran the speed test with the 1 MB file it was so fast that DSL Reports advised me to choose a larger file for the test (even though 1 MB is the largest). It finally "slowed" down on the 5th try to 1462 kbit/sec.
