Now, GET OFF MY LAWN !
How would you change Apple's iPhone 3GS? {Engadget}
Aug 3rd 2009 4:50AM I would change it for my Nokia E71 anytime.
Keepin' it real fake, part CCXXII: Looks like "WeFound" a total Kindle ripoff {Engadget}
Jul 13th 2009 2:42AM Heck, if they left out the DRM amazon stuffs in the Kindle, it might actually be an improvement :)
ASOCS unveils MP100 Multicomm processor -- add LTE or mobile WiMax via software update {Engadget}
May 19th 2008 6:40AM not that any device that is more then one year old *ever gets* software updates - especialy if it introduces new features. Look at nokia - the e50 - e61 etc range of devices suport all features of the n95 do we have them? NEVER. Why have on demand paging internet radio and so on when you can buy a new phone for it ...

So when they are not selling as expected they will lower the price. That will make for a cheap umpc :D
How would you change the outcome of the format war? {Engadget}
Feb 23rd 2008 11:55AM well they are both crappy standards. and the fact that the one full of drm from a company with "great customer experience" history (sony: rootkits, as closed products as possible - mylo which died because of that, the darn sony memory stick and so on) won is not helping either. For now lets just say that 4,6 gb of hd xvid will do just fine for me :)
Web-based BitTorrent control for your mobile phone {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 30th 2007 5:34AM Hmm,
duh ! Mobile webinterfaces for all kinds of software including mule, azureus, and others have been around almost as long as the softwares. Writing about symtorrent or others that actually download on the phone (making my e61, 2gb minisd and the many free hotspots in the city an interesting combination :) would have made more sense.
-1 point for this one ;)
Apple wants your iPod to stop charging for thieves {Engadget}
Jul 30th 2007 5:15AM Well,
It, like most of the "antitheft" or "antipiracy" solutions it will only trouble legal users (drm, wga, sony rootkit anybody?). For a thief it will never be a problem. You will get third party firmware/guardian circuit replacements/whatever the very next day it appears. Just like nobody can't stop me to stick the line out of a drm playing device to the line in of a recording device, nobody will stop me to stick two wires from the battery to a general li-ion charger available for 5 bucks.
But it will be a great pain in the "asymmetrical photons" to anybody using, selling or making third party chargers... A manufacturer will probably be required to license the damn thing before using it, even if he can circumvent it. And that means... right more money !
