Jan 27th 2008 9:25AM This is a know issue by AT&T and they are aware of the key-breaking problem. Call warranty exchange again at 1(800) 801-1101 and they should ship you out a replacement phone. If whoever you're talking to says it's accidental damage, ask to speak to a supervisor. The Sony rep contacted our store and told us that AT&T warranty would be replacing handsets with broken keys.

Oct 26th 2007 5:04PM Scout650, if you got your phone from an AT&T corporate store, direct mail, or online, you can still return it as long as you have the box, receipt and it's still within 30 days. AT&T doesn't require the bar code to be on the box. The rebate center waits 30 days anyways to see if you return the phone.

Oct 16th 2007 4:20PM I work for AT&T. For as long as I've been working there, we haven't penalized customers when they change their rate plan. The proration of ETF's is definitely good news though.

Oct 11th 2007 11:16AM Sony hasn't made a single CDMA phone in ages. All the good phones like Nokia or SE are on GSM since that is the global standard. Since you're on Sprint, you should be used to the crappy CDMA devices by now. The only decent CDMA phones are those from the Korean manufacturers since Korea is one of the only other countries still using CDMA.

Jul 7th 2007 10:29AM Where the hell did these people get there college degrees? As a mechanical engineering major, I can categorically state the a perpetual motion machine is impossible. Not only does it violate the first law of thermodynamics, but more importantly it violates the second law of thermodynamics. Work is produced by energy moving from a hot reservoir to a cold reservoir. It is impossible for heat to be completely converted to work (some heat has to go to the cold reservoir). Even if you had the most efficient parts and there was no friction or air resistance, an engine cannot be more efficient than a Carnot engine.

Jul 5th 2007 1:02PM I currently have the Shure I2c-m that AT&T stores were selling at launch. I feel that the cord is too long (about a foot longer than the standard ear buds) and don't like that the plug is L-shaped. But the sound quality on them is terrific. Would anyone recommend that I return the Shure's and go with the V-Moda instead? Is the V-Moda the same length as the standard iPhone earbuds?

Jul 2nd 2007 11:15AM Many of the people here complaining have only themselves to blame. You should have checked first about activating an iPhone on a corporate responsibility account. You usually cannot make changes to those accounts without permission from your employer. For the iPhone to work, you need a standard consumer rate plan with individual responsibility (not corporate responsibility). I had an AT&T employee rate plan on my account and I knew the iPhone wouldn't work with it. So I called in early on Friday to have my plan changed to a $39.99 consumer rate plan. Once I got my iPhone, the activation took 5 minutes and I was using my new iPhone.
For the guys that tried to activate the iPhone on their existing prepaid accounts, you should have gone into an AT&T store and converted your account into a postpaid account first.
For the former AT&T Wireless customers, you should have figured out a long time ago that Cinguler/New AT&T phones don't work with your old AT&T Wireless service and you have to convert to "Orange" side first. I refused to switch over for the longest time and I just kept buying unlocked phones, until I realized that I could prevent overages by using Cingular's Rollover plans (I barely talk on the phone, but my mom racks up my bill).
And as for the port problems, it seems like the port system for AT&T (as well as the other companies) are just being overwhelmed. Be patient and you should be up and running soon.

Jul 2nd 2007 9:36AM This strategy won't work. I know for sure it wont work in a Telegence market, and it probably wouldn't work in CARE markets either. If you type in a SSN wrong during the credit check, it just sends the application to analyst review. Then a rep has to call in and verify the correct SSN before a deposit is returned. Only then will it offer to pay a deposit or do a Go Phone "Pick Your Plan." Unless you have really crappy credit (but somehow can afford an iPhone), you will not be able to set it up on prepaid.
