Blockbuster bullish on DVD rentals, could hike rates to support upgrades {Engadget HD}

Sep 25th 2008 12:49AM As a former employee (manager) for 8 years, I can say that corporate-management (RDO and higher) has no idea what they are doing.
They feel that they can cut CSR hours, lower raises to 15 cents a year, and still keep "high quality" employees that go out of their way for customers.
BBV has turned into a revolving door the last few years I was there.
A person would get hired, realize how much work had to be done (due to low staff) and end up leaving 3 months later.
An average store would go through 8 new employees in a year.
Now with the economy the way it is, I've heard my old store is doing about 12% less revenue, only has 2 manager, and now closes at 10pm instead of midnight.
Thank God I was able to get out of there 3 years ago.

Ask Engadget HD: Which cable / interconnect brand should I rely on? {Engadget HD}

Sep 24th 2008 10:07PM I've used MIT Cables for about 12 years now.
Even though their high-end stuff can cost thousands, they have alot of quality cables that are reasonably priced and perform better than Monster Cable.

Pioneer Elite BDP-09FD Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player leaks out {Engadget}

Aug 22nd 2008 9:43PM When I got my Pioneer Elite DV-37 DVD Player in 2001, it was about $800.
Seven years later and I've had ZERO problems with it. Picture Quality blew-away other DVD players I tested at that time, and somes new DVD players out on the market today.
Pioneer makes top-quality products.
Now if my 2001 Panasonic CT-36HX41 HDTV had a 1080p HDMI input and not 1080i Component, then I might get this new Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player.

HDfury2 adapter kit tunnels HDCP-laden HDMI content via component / VGA {Engadget HD}

Aug 18th 2008 4:32PM I have a Panasonic CT-36HX41 HDTV I purchased in 2001. It has two component inpunts, but no DVI or HDMI inputs. The TV's specs say it can display 1080i and upconvert 480i to 480p. I've never heard of any Component-only HDTV being able to display 1080p.

LG Dare on sale June 26? {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 18th 2008 2:51PM All new HDTVs have ....1080p, HDMI, better contract.
And cars have seats, wheels, a/c, windows.
Just because its similar doesn't make it a rip-off!

FCC Fridays on (very) temporary hiatus {Engadget Mobile}

Microsoft fixes Vista SP1 update problems, not soon enough for some {Engadget}

Feb 20th 2008 2:28PM This bug is fixed in the Vista SP1 RTM that was posted on th Microsoft Connect site. I've had it for a week now without issue. But I still use XP 99% of the time due to "other porblems".
I don't think I'll ever change over to Vista and get rid of XP. I just hope the next OS is better.

Verizon to offer unlimited voice, data, and messaging packages {Engadget}

Feb 17th 2008 9:29PM So why do $200 for a Family Share?
Just do two $99 Single lines. That way they can both get NE2 credit.
Something doesn't sound right.
