Rogers pondering a UMA service called "Home Calling Zone"? {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 2nd 2008 6:39PM I would love to see an option that doesnt require you to pay $15-20.. which is quite expensive itself, but instead uses your plan's minutes, if it used my plans minutes, it would be perfect for me. I regularly go in an area that isn't serviced by Rogers and while I can use highspeed internet, I can't make calls on my cellphone, the phone has wifi already but I doubt the phone would be covered, but if it allowed me to make outbound calls just using my minutes, it would be perfect for me

Puretracks DRM-free music store hitting BlackBerry platform in April {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 12th 2008 5:51PM Wow.. Puretracks is STILL around?! I haven't used their service since 2003 or 2004 and I had problems with downloading some of their songs and their customer service was non-existent to help for the problem.

Yak Communications throws hat in Canadian spectrum auction ring {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 11th 2008 10:34PM wow, no mention of MTS? MTS was probably (one of) the first entrants in the auction. Many are thinking they might win it. They got the former CEO of Fido to head to consortium for the auction. Should be interesting, my whole family is with MTS, but I wouldn't ever think of switching to them unless if lots of things changed. Especially for it to stop acting like a government agency.

Rogers breaks out new data plans, Canadian jaws drop {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 20th 2008 4:16PM This was talked about on Howard Forums for well over a month now. This is a big step for Rogers, but compared to the $7-15 plans Bell and Telus had, it just doesn't compare. But for me, I'm sticking to the majority of my data usage being on Wifi

iPhone invading Canada tomorrow? {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 15th 2008 2:15PM There wasn't any announcement of Rogers introducing the iPhone at MacWorld today

Nokia N95 8GB listed on Nokia USA: $780 {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 31st 2007 4:05AM Yeah, but it means that following the "WCDMA 2100", the phone is capable of the other bands in EDGE/GPRS speeds.

The phone is very capable in North America, but if you want fast phone data on AT&T, T-Mo US or Rogers, this phone won't be capable of it. That's what I got from it.

T-Mobile gets in Telus' face over use of "My Faves" {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 16th 2007 4:48AM I remember when Telus introduced the plan, a few days after Rogers' My5 plan came out, I thought "Yeah.. Telus is going to get sued!"

I'm going to add My5 Canada Wide ($15/mo) when I'm out in Quebec next year.. that's if my 1000 minutes of Canadian long distance can't cover it.
