Live from the Comcast keynote at CES {Engadget}
Jan 8th 2008 1:05PM Open Standard? Well, unless I am able to use these services regardless of operating system (GNU/Linux, etc.), I will not consider it Open. Something tells me, CableLabs and Comcast aren't going to really be "open." We shall see though. They are welcome to prove me wrong.
A-DATA demos 128GB SATA RAID SSD {Engadget}
Jan 8th 2008 12:59PM RAID? I'm going to assume that they took 2 or more smaller SSD's and are using RAID to create 1 drive, since they claim that they are increasing performance and capacity by using the RAID (sounds like RAID 0). Of course, unless they have redundancy (mirroring) in their RAID configuration (they don't if it's RAID 0), they are also increasing the chances of data loss.
So really, IMHO I think RAID is more of a buzz word here. They don't even say what type of RAID!

Oct 23rd 2007 7:45AM Since it's UMS, it should work on other OS's too, like GNU/Linux.

Oct 23rd 2007 7:44AM You can just drag files onto it with your Mac (it comes up as a UMS device). That was one of the reasons why I purchased this player.
