Jun 19th 2007 1:53AM amazon just began selling the 850/1800/1900 unlocked version for $299. (they also sell the 900/1800/1900 version for $325, but the 900 gsm version gets less reception with att/cingular.) The catch is their saying it will take 4-6 weeks for delivery. When they posted an unlocked version of the nokia n75, it was only a week or so later that cingular started selling it, and amazon began offering a cingular contract phone (for $165 less than cingular's price).
