Microsoft group manager: Windows 7 borrowing 'Mac look and feel' (updated: Microsoft responds) {Engadget}
Nov 11th 2009 9:54PM W7 looks nice, and doesn't clone OS X in any way. They did a decent job (for once) in designing a fresh and fun GUI. This next point is of course a matter of opinion, but to me, in terms of GUI W7 kicks the crap outta the other partition on my macbook pro (OS X). But OS X is still easier to configure, and use. In terms of stability, I have been running on a Mac for about 2 years now, and while I do not see as many lockups, or updates as I did in Vista... They do still happen. To be honest Apple should be patching a lot more than they do. This OS is no more secure than any other unix based OS. And it is strange to me that programs that lock up in other Unix OS's don't bring down the entire OS, but in OS X they will, seems strange to me.
Palm Pre price keeps sinking on Bell, down to $100 {Engadget}
Nov 8th 2009 12:32AM I don't think this is good news for Palm. I wonder what is happening behind closed doors over there... Could spell trouble for the potential comeback kids.
Ukraine war memorial given eternal LED torch, cell antenna {Engadget}
Oct 25th 2009 8:41AM What a spit in the face for those soldiers. That would be like carving out the inside of the Washington Monument to make condos, or building a house with the Vietnam War Memorial Wall. Those monuments deserve to be left alone, honored and respected in memory to whom they were built. Not commercialized and prostituted out for "other uses".

Oct 18th 2009 11:44AM "That woman looked so ridiculous! I mean have you ever seen someone look more stupid, or insecure in your life? She looked the bride of frankenst... She's right behind me, isn't she?"
Verizon's anti-iPhone gets its first commercial: 'Droid Does' (update) {Engadget}
Oct 17th 2009 10:40PM thats a pretty wicked ad... I never thought about what iPhone won't do in a concurrent list like that... When you put it that way it does really kinda suck! But then again the seamless integration of iTunes music & video makes a strong case FOR iPhone... I donno, I am so conflicted! Maybe I will try and Android for a while. Does that make me a trader? :))
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray debuts October 20, check out one of the special features now (Video) {Engadget HD}
Oct 16th 2009 2:34PM Megan Fox is nasty... I mean she was hot once, but then she opened her mouth! She would be prettier if she kept her mouth shut, but she doesn't seem capable of doing that. Now she is just another piece of overpriced undereducated white trash. You want a true beauty then gaze upon Kate Beckinsale. Amazing looks, class, and down to earth.... And she has a British accent. The perfect woman!

Oct 16th 2009 11:00AM So... Why not change it? make the them optional so sites resolve with or without them. Would that be too difficult to do or something?
I think it is funny that he lamented about something so small... But I always wondered why they were there!
Phil Schiller on Windows 7: 'No matter how you look at it, it's still Windows' {Engadget}
Oct 15th 2009 4:39PM Yeah it's still Windows... What else could it be? I think the problem is that MS wants to innovate rather than refine. In theory if MS just focused on consistent refinement on the old Windows platform then opportunities for innovation would naturally present themselves.
But MS has to work on another new platform to carryon the company's OS legacy. It is time for Microsoft to make the move Apple made when they went from 9 to OS X. Something completely new from the ground up. No registries, no crummy file systems, just an OS that works. But even then MS will still be the enemy... Someone has to be, right?
Acer fulfills prophecy, overtakes Dell as number two PC maker worldwide (update) {Engadget}
Oct 15th 2009 2:36AM On the update: Yes because U.S. Sales are SO MUCH more important that worldwide! We American's are consumer whores... The # 1 reason this country is in the financial mess it is in is because we stopped producing and starting using after WWII.
Software firm finds Windows 7 doesn't boot faster than Vista {Engadget}
Oct 9th 2009 4:32AM Therein lies the problem with being the champion... nobody likes you anymore. Redmond couldn't get it right even if they got it right. The geek / nerd demographic will never allow it! Everyone roots for the underdogs even though the bigdogs make the world go around.
Bottom line is Windows 7 is what Vista should have been had they not rushed it consumers the way they did. Everyone knows that the problems with winbog over time will never be fixed as long as MS holds onto registries, dlls and poorly designed file system architecture. People want the security of Linux, and the ease of use and compatibility of Windows, but most people don't understand the paradox between security and ease of use... Most of the time those two are not intrinsically compatible with one another.
Apple thinks they have it all figured out, but BSD has security issues too and requires a lot more patching than Apple releases, but they rely on the fact that scriptkiddies and malware designers don't want to bother with their OS X when Windows is such an easy shiny target. Apple's day will come if they get their way and take more of the market share from MS.
I hear good things about IntegrityOS but I don't know if it will ever see a consumer PC... So heres to Chrome! Lets see what Google can do to light the fires of the OS war. HURAH!
