Vehicle-to-grid will turn suburbs into power plants, won't help undertones of repression {Engadget}
Oct 4th 2008 3:57AM oh sure it sounds innocent... one minute they want to plugin to our cars the next step is plugging us into the grid and providing a spiffy virtual reality for us to "live in" while "the grid" enjoys our juice... sounds familiar...
T-Mobile G1 impressions: what we love, what we don't {Engadget}
Sep 25th 2008 12:50AM I have been very excited about this device, and I am going to get one once someone "opens" it for real and lets me use it on any carrier network.
I wish they could have ironed out some of the initial kinks like that have been mentioned in this post. I really don't understand companies that release half-baked products that aren't truly ready for market. MS is the king of this, Apple ain't far behind and of course google has had gmail in "beta" for 4 years now. Looks like this is just going to be the trend for all eternity.
"Thought helmets" could enable voiceless troop communication {Engadget}
Sep 22nd 2008 9:48AM This is scary tech... life imitating sci-fi. This opens the door to very dangerous abuses, and I am not paranoid... we are talking about humans with the ability to read minds after all... Not good, great example of where science could take us but shouldn't. They should put that $4M into research that will actually benefit mankind rather than paving the way to greater human atrocities.

Helio's Ocean 2 coming -- but not until 2009 {Engadget}
Sep 12th 2008 1:00PM http://www.openmoko.com/ looks like the ocean... choose your carrier, customize the OS, do what you want... As it should be if you OWN THE PHONE.

Klausner says "not so fast," sues Verizon and LG over visual voicemail {Engadget}
Aug 27th 2008 2:00AM Verizon and LG are considering the lawsuit a cost of doing business. I guarantee that it was included in the cost and product pricing analysis way before any of us heard of the new feature. Of course it might have been easier to just purchase license from the patent holder rather than going to court... big business... big mystery.
The editor-in-chief giveaway: Win Ryan Block's swag {Engadget}
Aug 24th 2008 11:02PM I want it all! I plan to disassemble everything to build the ultimate robot... this robot will appear to be a simple helper of humanity, but in secret I will use it, all future models to silently take over the snow cone industry, until one day all world leaders will be forced to come to me to fill the screaming torments of their people (laughs maniacally)... Yes... together we will rule the world.
Or I will just brag to all my friends about how I am best pals with the editor and chief of Engadget and make myself appear cooler than I really am with all the cool "gifts" he gave me... at any rate the gadgets will go to a good and worthy cause!
Peek: the handheld that does e-mail, and only e-mail {Engadget}
Aug 21st 2008 1:39AM They are targeting (pun) the typical consumers. I am willing to be a large percentage of cellular customers don't even know they can get phones that surf the web and check email... It may be popular for the uniformed. Stranger things have happened (Starbucks).
