Nokia E71 confirmed and oh-so-slim {Engadget}

Jun 16th 2008 10:51AM It's not a typo. I believe WCDMA 850/2100 is Australia.

T-Mobile clears everything up: 3G rollout (with data) is on in NYC {Engadget}

May 5th 2008 5:55PM Does anyone else think that T-Mobile might have a hard time in getting a lot of good 3G phones out to the market compared to AT&T? I mean, they're the only ones in the world who are using WCDMA 1700/2100 for their 3G. With WCDMA 850/1900, you've GSM carriers in North America using it (Rogers in Canada, AT&T in the US, and Telcel in Mexico), and many carriers in South America use it too. Also, doesn't Telstra in Australia use WCDMA 850 for their 3G services?

Officially Official: Opel Insignia revealed {Autoblog}

Apr 17th 2008 8:33PM Wow, that's literally stunning!

If this came stateside as a Saturn with these same features, I'd actually buy a Saturn! No, I don't want another Americanized-Opel like the Aura.... The Astra is a good start, but why did they delete the options like HID headlights, more powerful engines, Bluetooth, and navigation??

IIHS questions the effectiveness of five new safety features {Autoblog}

Apr 17th 2008 3:26PM I dunno...

I find it extremely satisfying by pushing the blue "Start/Stop" button in my mom's G35.. :-p

HP iPAQ 900 series smartphone hits the FCC {Engadget}

Apr 17th 2008 3:15PM I could definitely see people buying this over a Blackjack II. To me, this phone just seems more professional and business-like, while the Blackjack II is more of a college student's phone.

Yet another HTC Neon hits the FCC -- this time with US 3G {Engadget}

Apr 17th 2008 3:12PM AT&T and T-Mobile USA don't use the same frequencies for 3G. AT&T uses WCDMA 850/1900 for UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA, while T-Mobile will use WCDMA 1700 for their initial UMTS rollout (may even be HSDPA according to some.)

In Europe, the standard for 3G is generally WCDMA 2100. You can buy phones right now in Europe, Asian, and America (such as Nokias, Sony Ericssons, HTCs) that are "World 3G-capable" meaning they have WCDMA 850/1900/2100; however, they will not work on T-Mobile USA's 3G because WCDMA 1700 is yet to be launched.

Apr 17th 2008 3:05PM It has AT&T 3G which is referred to as North American 3G because the main GSM operators in the United States, Canada, and Mexico ALL use WCDMA 850/1900 for their bands of 3G, which is why more phones across the world are coming out on those bands.

Meanwhile, T-Mobile USA will be operating on WCDMA 1700, which very few phones are capable of.

Acura prices 2009 TSX just below $30k {Autoblog}

Apr 14th 2008 8:41PM Oh, and I forgot - it also has a really good surround sound system. Add that to the list...

Acura prices 2009 TSX just below $30k {Autoblog}

Apr 14th 2008 8:39PM Some of you guys are ridiculous. Has it ever occured to you that horsepower is not everything? Some people just want a luxury car with the latest features and could care less about how quickly it reaches 60, as long as it is reasonable and smooth in doing so.

Please, somebody, name a vehicle in America for $32K that has the following: HID headlights, LED gauges, LED interior lighting, heated leather seats, memory driver's seat, navigation with real-time traffic, bluetooth, electronic stability control, and more?

For some, HP isn't everything and just the features matter. For others, HP is a big deal; thus, those people move to higher-end vehicles such as the TL, 3-Series, G35, etc.

XPERIA X1 shows AT&T graphic at CeBIT -- what could it possibly mean? {Engadget}

Mar 6th 2008 12:03AM Are you serious!?! Comparing at&t's coverage map of the Bay Area with T-Mobile's coverage map of the Bay Area makes me weep for T-Mobile users. Obviously I'm not from there, but I go there about every year. I was just there this past winter with family all around the 680 corridor and one of my cousins with a Shadow could barely get a signal around San Ramon. Meanwhile, my iPhone had atleast 3 bars my whole week there, and about 75% of the time in the Bay Area had 5 bars.
