Motorola ROKR E8 coming to T-Mobile! {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 14th 2008 2:18AM For the life of me I cannot figure out why everyone hates Motorola handsets... I think they consistently design some of the best looking phones out there. Voice quality on RIZR and V8 is outstanding.
I think a lot of the commenters (myself included) sometimes to forget to limit their criticism to US handsets only. I too agree that the phones that US carriers offer are absolute shit, and for that reason, I buy my phones unlocked from overseas...
I work for T-Mo by day and their handset selection is decent now and only getting better... phones like the V8, SK, and E8 have that major eye grabbing "eye want" appeal...
Now lets take a look at the competition. Nokia? Great build quality, but you gotta go to the N Series to get anything that doesn't look and feel like a brick. Samsung in the US? Don't make me laugh. I can't speak for LG as T-Mo doesn't sell them, but I've seen some nice offerings from them (GSM Chocolate, Shine...)
I think the Synergy OS is by far and away the most efficient to use over all other platforms. All the basic stuff can be accessed in only a few clicks, and even less with customisation of the 4way dpad... MOTOMAGX is great, but very un user friendly at the start. Symbian/S60 is great too, but I don't find it as friendly as Synergy, and I should say that I just got rid of a Nokia N76 (loved it, but just time to move on...) for an iPhone.
Sidekick LX launching on T-Mobile October 24? {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 22nd 2007 1:55PM The cards are legit. I work at the T-Mobile store in Water Tower (Chicago) and we received the cards. I am definitely getting one of the NG Sidekicks, but I'll have to play with them both before I make my decision...

Apple's locked iPhones the subject of new class-action suit {Engadget}
Aug 28th 2007 12:04PM The best this guy can hope to achieve is a check for $2000 to make him go away. Apple and AT&T aren't releasing their deathgrip on the iPhone anytime soon. As a T-Mobile user, I would love nothing more than to have an iPhone for myself, but I can't say I blame Apple or AT&T for flexing their muscle on this one. When you have a product... or in this case *the* product, you can get away with nearly anything you want. And as others above have said, carriers locking phones aren't to blame for individual stupidity.
Nokia N75 and N76 now available -- from Nokia USA {Engadget}
Jun 1st 2007 11:21PM I think the original poster jumped the gun on this one. I stopped in at the Nokia flagship in Chicago today and they did NOT have the N75 or N76. He said it "may be as soon as a month" before they have them. Granted the guy may have been playing dumb, but still. I

T-Mobile launches T-Mobile Address Book {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 13th 2007 6:52PM The service from T-Mobile is free though. The contacts are all managed through My T-Mobile, but you are not required to pay your bill online or anything. The service is not live yet, but scheduled to come online in the first part of March. The Nokia 6133 supports this feature also.
Motorola teases with RAZR maxx Ve site {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 9th 2007 1:07PM It saddens me to see such a beautiful phone be stripped of all its individuality when Verizon shoves their VCAST crap in it. Oh well, I guess it will make me appreciate my unlocked GSM version a little more...
The Apple iPhone {Engadget Mobile}
Jan 9th 2007 1:52PM I just hope it can be unlocked for T-Mobile.
