Orange denies planting iPhone customers {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Anyone standing in line is already sold on the product.
Orange denies planting iPhone customers {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Aug 28th 2008 10:31AM People who are already waiting in line don't need to be "sold" on the product...it would be a waste of Orange's money and man-hours to hype things up.
Smarter idea would've been to give some employees pre-release models and have them go to malls or busy areas.
Ultimate Fiero resurrection: Lamborghini Reventon replica {Autoblog}
Aug 3rd 2008 12:24AM Nevermind the amazingly-obvious short wheelbase of the Fiero...easiest way to spot a fake exotic.
Keepin' it real fake, part CXXVII: OQO G900 mimics Palm Centro {Engadget}
Aug 3rd 2008 12:22AM I think this actually looks better than the Centro -- the squared-off styling is a bit nicer than the awkwardly round edges.
How would you change Apple's iPhone 3G? {Engadget}
Aug 2nd 2008 7:04PM Add a "status light" so I can see if there's a missed call, VM, SMS, e-mail, etc. without having to turn on the screen. BlackBerrys, Nokias, etc. all use this.

Aug 2nd 2008 5:26PM Ways to make it more theft-resistant:
1. Use special security bolts & nuts
2. Use thread-locker
3. Reinforce exhaust tubing right around inlet/outlet
4. Move it further up into the engine bay where possible
Are iPhone 3Gs developing cracks? {Engadget}
Jul 30th 2008 6:35AM My white one developed a crack right at the power/sleep button. I took it back to the Apple store and they gave me a new one. Problem solved.
I dunno why this is happening given that every cell phone on the market these days is plastic...
Dell slots in 24-inch widescreen S2409W LCD monitor {Engadget}
Jul 29th 2008 9:59AM Bleh, 300 cd/m^2 brightness? DO NOT WANT.
For just a little bit more, you can go for a Samsung 245BW and get 400 cd/m^2 with a really nice dynamic contrast ratio. And it's height adjustable. (no HDMI, but that's easily fixed with a DVI-->HDMI converter)
Downgrading 2.1 iPhones not as daunting as originally thought {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jul 28th 2008 4:09PM I too have never understood why firmware/BIOS updates to devices are not reversible. Can anyone with a dev background shed some light?
Ask Engadget: Best LCD monitor under $400? {Engadget}
Jul 24th 2008 11:07PM Samsung 245BW. Incredible brightness and a great dynamic contrast system, with extremely vivid colors. Puts the 24" Acer and BenQ to shame. It's also aesthetically pleasing with the glossy bezel....oh, and you get height adjustment, which is hard to find these days.
