Nokia's Ovi Store overwhelmed at launch, apology issued {Engadget}
May 27th 2009 12:51PM I don't know what people are so mad about. It works on my N85 NAM. I've used it to buy an app yesterday morning using a credit card. I never really used the old services, but I would say this is a much better app with better interface and functionality. The selection is a little small, but I think the main purpose - exposing developers' applications to the world of (50 million?) nokia users - is there. I look forward to more developers jumping on board now that there is a more integrated distribution service.

Nokia's North American N85 now shipping {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 9th 2008 9:44AM Nokia has a $50 off any phone over $300 (N85!) promotion right now (http://www.nokiausa.com/buyonline). Of course that also means you can get a new unlocked N78 for less than $300. But I went for the big guns. I pre-ordered an N85 last week. Fedex says it's out on the truck for delivery right now.
Nokia N85 pops up at Amazon for $556 unlocked {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 1st 2008 7:14AM For an unsubsidized, unlocked phone I think it's a fair deal. People just need to understand that phones are expensive. It's cheaper than the N95 USED to be and just a few dollars more than it is NOW. And everyone will agree it's better: better screen, microusb sync/charge, smaller, newer OS, FM transmitter, etc. It will probably go down in price in a few months. The Euro N85 is down below $500.
Compared to the $300 price on-contract or the $500 price off-contract from AT&T of the Touch Pro (Fuze), I would say this phone wins. Of course they are very different phones, but for me at least the N85 has all of the important features.
LG Incite for sale on AT&T's site, $199.99 on contract {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 18th 2008 1:45PM Looks like it does have a 3.5mm headphone jack and the camera has autofocus. No word on flash. I was browsing the AT&T website and found a different spec page in the "business" section:
https://www.wireless.att.com/business/phones/phone_details_main.jsp?skuId=sku4139600021
Interesting specs that aren't on the regular site:
- 3 inch 240 x 400, 262K TFT LCD flat touch-sensitive screen with VGA resolution
- Side jog dial for navigation
- MicroSD Memory Card support -- store songs and other media files up to 32 GB
- Mini USB 2.0 high speed
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- 3 megapixel camera with auto focus

Nov 18th 2008 8:17AM Where are the full specs on this phone? It's not even on the LG website. Are there any reviews? I have several questions not answered by AT&T's website. Does it have flash/autofocus? 3.5mm headphone jack? What modifications have they made to the WM6.1 OS? Looks pretty nice, how do people feel about this phone vs. the Fuze? Is Fuze worth $100 more?
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 review {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 12th 2008 10:05AM You know I've never really understood this contract price argument. I'm not going to be paying any more than I currently am for my service. I don't know where you all get free cell phone service from. Here are a few scenarios:
Now: $75/month with old phone
Touch Pro : $75/month + $299 Touch Pro
X1: $75/month + $799 X1
For $799, I could get the Touch Pro on contract AND and unlocked phone (like the N85 ~$500) and still be paying $75/month. It only makes sense if you have the extra money to blow. But then again you could end up like me, waiting around for a year after my contract expired for AT&T to pick up a decent feature phone.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 review {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 12th 2008 8:25AM $799 is a lot, but it sure is nice. My only problem is AT&T is waving around the HT Touch Pro in front of me for $299. It has similar features, missing a few, but still very nice.
Maybe if the government gives us another "stimulus" check I will do my part and buy one. :)
User manual images show off AT&T's Samsung Eternity {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 6th 2008 11:59AM That's very sad to see the 3MP camera. I had a lot of hope after seeing a post earlier today that claimed there would be a 5MP camera. :( When will you join the future AT&T?! WHEN!?
