Sony Ericsson pushes out a trio of new Walkman phones, right on cue {Engadget}

Jul 22nd 2008 2:01PM I don't have any experience with phones that have connectors on the side, but that looks like it'll be spectacularly lame in my pocket. I have a W810i right now, it connects to the bottom so the cable path out of my pocket is a non-issue - this looks like it'll create an annoying protrusion.

Gran Turismo 5 'might not even roll out before 2010' {PS3 Fanboy}

Jul 18th 2008 6:57PM I've been a Polyphony Digital fan and apologist for too long. Reading this article, I can only say that in my mind, they have officially lost their way. They are no longer a company that produces fantastic racing games for their customer/fans- they are a bunch of masturbaters. They are doing whatever they are doing for themselves only. Prologue was just a way to continue funding their circle jerk.

It had to be said.

I've seen them a few times, they are cool. Must get sweaty playing under the mask though...

Sony's NWZ-B130F Walkman makes its way to Asia {Engadget}

Jul 16th 2008 1:49PM That's an interesting point to make since until not too long ago, they *did* require you to use some proprietary software and unlike iTunes, it was single platform only (Windows, naturally).

I'm thinking in particular of the NW-S705, which I have direct experience with.

Playstation Network gets movie / TV download service, single sign-on across devices {Engadget}

Jul 16th 2008 1:43PM I agree - the $5.99 pricing for most of the HD content was a complete downer and ruins this feature for me. $2 for a rental is fabulous, but I would be completely miserable to watch SD content on my 1080p set, so that's not an acceptable option either.

I'll stick to netflix for now...

DeepNote Guitar Hero bot 'watches' the game, rocks you within an inch of your life {Engadget}

Jul 14th 2008 1:41PM >pictures say a thousand words (and video is prone to run-on sentences)

Love it! Engadget's writers are the sharpest around, and little gems like this bring a smile to my face.

Americans using mobile internet the most, RAZR family most responsible {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 12th 2008 11:33PM Yeah, that was the first thing that came to mind - 15.6%? That would seem a laughable number in Japan.

I checked out the article and Japan is not included in the study, without explanation, so I'm guessing they are so far ahead in these numbers, it was meaningless to include such an outlier.

Jokiusoft releases JoikuSpot Premium, S60 phones turn into enterprise hotspots {Engadget Mobile}

Verizon CEO hates on Steve Jobs, doesn't see iPhone as a mass-market handset {Engadget}

Jul 1st 2008 2:18PM I don't know about AT&T, but as Cingular, they came out with rollover minutes. Pretty much the most damn innovative thing an American cellular carrier has ever done in my book.

Ask Engadget: What's the best home media server? {Engadget}

Jun 27th 2008 1:37PM Ayup, I'm looking to get a 2-bay QNAP unit (TS-20x) soon and pop a couple of 1TBs in it. With DLNA support to my PS3, I'll be in nirvana, I'm sure of it. Much cheaper than ReadyNAS units of equivalent capability, well-reviewed, and purpose-built so convenient in a way a self-built system can't match.
