The official time box for the launch of the
HTC Hero in Europe is July -- entirely too broad a date range for the most celebrated Android device to date. That leaves the Hero hopefuls idle, aimlessly wandering the dank HTML corridors of on-line retailers for more detailed clues. In hopes of slaking that jones, we just learned that Amazon UK has pushed its release date
back from July 15 to July 24th while another site, Devicewire, says via its Twitter account that it won't have stock until the first week of August. There, feel better?
[Thanks, Drew T. and Sam P.]

Amazon has had that date for a while now.
I got a message from Orange to say that it will be out within a week but didn't give a date as it is still in testing.
I think it will be coming out on contract before sim only.

Heya,
When did you get that message from Orange, I'm on Orange (UK) too .. just looking forward to this phone more than I did my Viewty, which I still have 20 or so months later

damn. crappy carriers ruin good phones. this phone should have been with o2 or t-mobile at the very least. it will live no where near its potential with that crappy orange carrier.
