BlackBerry Tours, come and get 'em on Sprint and Verizon

If you've had you eye on the Tour, we bet you didn't forget they were going on sale today -- but just in case you had, consider this your official reminder. Both carriers are now offering RIM's latest and greatest CDMA BlackBerry for $199.99 on contract, so you're probably not going to see a lot of defections between carriers this time around. Pardon us if we don't shed a tear for the lack of exclusivity on this one.

I'll wait for BB Atlas if it's a world phone with WiFi. I've been with Verizon since 2000 and I am happy with it. If BB Atlas is not world phone with WiFi then I'll switch to t-mo because I have no more patient.

So I'm just curious what the advantages would be paying that much more?

At least in my area, it helps that Verizon service actually works. Sprint's network is worthless.

It would like its low-life trolling method back.

Service and coverage can only be judged on the ground by the individual with the phone in their hand.

Accept than others are intelligent enough to make their own informed decisions without the "benefit" of your infomercial.

A good reason might be Sprint's lack of good coverage in some places ... In my area, they're notorious for dropped calls and lost signals. With Verizon, my friends have never seen a place with a lost signal. I know those two arguments are purely geographical, but it's a pretty important factor.

and personally :: 450 minutes is not enough for me, either. With Verizon's network, you're barely using minutes during the day because a lot of people have it.

(Who gets detailed billing?)

I hate the both of them ... they're such scam artists with their customer education and hardware prices.

Our store had over 100 of these(120ish). We sold out. Next shipment comes in Tuesday. We have a list for people who want one. We had a ton of Sprint customers and AT&T customer port to Verizon today because Sprint stores won't get them until August 2nd and people were sick of AT&T's 3G network.

In terms of comparing these plans, you have to remember that *Sprint starts evenings at 7:00* whereas the rest start evenings at 9:00. This makes a huge difference for a lot of people who use a work phone during the day and make most of their cell calls starting in the evening!

Can't make up my mind between BB Tour vs. Palm Pre, and with the TP2 (hopefully) around the corner, Sprint is leaving me with a lot of choices that i like =)

Only things that i can see effecting my decision on the BB is the no WIFI (which i've acceptd by now) but whereas the Pre has WIFI, i'm sure the BB battery is way better. Also the expandable memory on the BB is a plus when compared to the Pre....maybe i should just wait for the TP2 after all.

actually this phone is only available through Direct Ship from Sprint (online-telesales), and its backordered on launch day. best buy does have the rumor2 in orange, so go sell those and enjoy not getting commission.
