HTC's redemption song: 3.5mm jacks coming to 'vast majority' of post-Hero devices
Better late than never, we suppose. Our friends at Mobile Crunch have it on word from a HTC spokesperson that a "vast majority of devices we launch after Hero" are gonna be including a 3.5mm headphone jack as a standard feature. The rep also added that devices already announced would "not necessarily be part of this change," which while not ruling it out entirely, doesn't get our hopes up. Still, it's refreshing to know the future generations won't be beholden to the adapter-laden shackles of its ancestors -- so Lancaster, where will you fall in all this mess?

So...perhaps I skip the Touch Pro II - or what ever ATT is going to call it. Fortress?

Why skip it? Just because it doesn't have the headphone jack? The adapter is painless, or better yet, get some bluetooth headphones.

I have a Plantronics 655 that I use w/my Fuze. After a call, it only successfully switches back to the music about 1/2 of the time. By no means do I think that an issue with anything other than the BT stack in the phone.
I also have the Dopod adapter with the mysic controls and the microphone. Unfortunately, you are forced to use the Windows Media player with it - not Core, as I prefer...but, you do get a microphone...and enough cord - when I use my Shures - to hang myself and someone else.
Hopefully the stack in the TP2 will be better and mt BT stereo set will be more reliable.

I was just talking the other day on a post about how i wish htc would start putting 3.5mm jacks on there phones. Now all I have to hope for is multitouch and dual micro sd hc slots!
Or just more storage than 512mb
I would like to throw away my aging ipod and store everything on my phone.
Give us some 32gb+ phones or Dual mirco sd hc slots.

too little too late!, the touch pro will be my last htc , actually looking at a tg01 now , again with no 3.5 jack but at least the cable that comes with it doesnt feel as though its made of cotton
think the touch pro could well be the worst phone ive ever had , pretty good as a pda , but usless as a phone , massive delay in ringing , it indeed it rings at all . pathetically quiet speaker ...... yep im gonna order that tg01 now

You can fix the vast majority of those problems if you spent about one hour at ppc geeks or xda. Search for the problems you've listed, or install a new rom; voila.
