HTC Firestone possibly rendered again, less blurry this time
Thai site Sanook has what appears to be the first decent render of HTC's mighty Firestone, the yet-to-be-announced heir apparent to last year's Touch HD. Of course, following up a device of the Touch HD's stature is no simple task; for starters, the Firestone tops up with Windows Mobile 6.5, but the big news might be that the Firestone's rumored to be coming out of the gate with an 8 megapixel camera -- a move that would likely put it head-to-head in some respects with Sony Ericsson's rumored XPERIA X2, and at that point, the only question might be how badly you need QWERTY. The Firestone's rumored for an August release, so we could end up with an epic battle on our hands here through the latter half of the year.

Yay more underperforming WinMo phones with pretentious codenames, keep em coming, HTC!
slamEVIL @ Jun 23rd 2009 3:40PM
so i take it you've used this phone and that's what you're basing your comment on? or maybe you already used winmo 6.5 on a snapdragon proc? or you used the 8mp camera already?
Antreas @ Jun 23rd 2009 4:58AM
I am sure that is fake. The back part is just like the Max 4. Also if you see the screen in the bottom is not real, i will take a screen shot and i ll mark it to see it.

I don't get it, why is fake. I am not a HTC fan, just I don't get it.:(
PeterF @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:21AM
It is a render, you can't use that kind of proof to say a render is fake. It isn't an actual picture.

8mPx camera without a flash ? Is that a joke ?
I vote Fake.
$e@alblaighter @ Jun 23rd 2009 9:05AM
Well HTC don't want to put flash in their models, look at their newest models top see it! HTC is weak in camera quality!

inf3rno @ Jun 23rd 2009 8:37AM
fake, 2009 htc phones have the zoombar, mainly because the newer version of the htc photoviewer software requires it aswell...
plus htc does not use the arrow logo on the newer phones...
slamEVIL @ Jun 23rd 2009 3:21PM
it could be an old render
Bruce Wayne @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:00AM
It's fake... agreed! It's not just the zoombar...Where's the Windows logo button? Wasn't it suppose to be a Microsoft requirement on devices with Windows 6.5 and up?
slamEVIL @ Jun 23rd 2009 3:36PM
i believe i read somewhere that the windows flag could be in the form of a soft key.
l Squid l @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:59AM
it looks like a HTC 4G back with a diamond 2 on the front. probably fake.
Niemand @ Jun 23rd 2009 4:16PM
FAKE... i cant believe that so many sites have that "news"
Guy #1 @ Jun 23rd 2009 8:26PM
That is obviously fake.
It's a Fuze front where they photoshopped out the dpad and shrunk down the buttons.
And if it's shipping with 6.5 it has to have a Windows logo.
