SureType coming to BlackBerry OS 5.0
As far as we can tell, BlackBerry OS 5.0 is shaping up to be extraordinarily incremental -- some users will barely notice the difference -- but one welcome change is the addition of SureType support on full QWERTY devices. Dropdown boxes spotted in build 5.0.0.110 for the Bold seem to make typing even easier than it already is, which is actually a pretty scary reality considering how quick some folks on the 9000's keyboard. Of course, this means you'll have to spend more time wheeling the trackball than you might like, but it's a tradeoff we'll take.

Funny, how nokia already had predictive text since Nokia E71 up to my knowledge. May be before. Now Blackberry is realizing this haha.

I'm not sure i understand how suretype will help most of us long-time BB users that have and use a full QWERTY keyboard. it seems odd to me for this to even be added in. My only wish is for a dedicated period "." key like Palm has had for years.

sure type with pearl is a different scenario than suretype with a curve. T9 is to number pad and suretype isto smarttype keyboards such as pearl and storm. I am talking about it with a qwerty keyboard and thats a first for bb where as thats not the case with nokia. Thats all
