Sirius XM iPhone app is now live, streaming
It hasn't been Thursday too long, but as promised, Sirius XM's iPhone / iPod touch app has popped up in the iTunes app store, ready for your aural digestion. There's a 7-day free trial being offered, but yeah, eventually you're gonna have to pay. Now that it's there, we might as well point out the app's got a 9+ rating for mild profanity and crude humor. Worth giving up Pandora, Last.fm, or any number of other free music streamers already available? That's your call, so go download and decide for yourself.

Howard Stern channels don't stream to the app.
Is SiriusXP completely inept? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. No wonder their stock is worth a couple of nickels.
IronSheik @ Jun 18th 2009 1:05AM
No Howard? WTF! sirius fails again!!
vindicated @ Jun 18th 2009 1:07AM
I know it. Its like they sit around and think of ways to fuck the shareholders (like me).
IronSheik @ Jun 18th 2009 1:08AM
howard is the only reason I have sirius!! Epic Fail
vindicated @ Jun 18th 2009 1:08AM
THEY HAVE PLAYBOY RADIO.......but no Howard Stern. Its not because of adult content. This is complete bullshit.
vindicated @ Jun 18th 2009 1:12AM
How do they have PLAYBOY RADIO but now Howard Stern channels?
No excuse.
Matt @ Jun 18th 2009 1:29AM
I've searched everywhere and cannot find it. Are you sure it's on the app store?
ShadowGod @ Jun 18th 2009 1:36AM
OMG that's hilarious. You subscribe to the service, you can stream Howard on the PC, but not on the iPhone? Is that an Apple thing?
So funny.
iPhoneincanada @ Jun 18th 2009 2:39AM
Won't work in canada?!?!? I paid $500 for a very long subscription to xm and now it won't work on my iPhone unless I'm from the USA? Works online and in car, just another reason to move to the states (hulu). Not impressed
iPhoneincanada @ Jun 18th 2009 3:09AM
I guess the only upside is that we can tether and mms off the bat. I wish they would release the same features of the same product to both countries at the same time
Henry Thomas @ Jun 18th 2009 6:40AM
XM RADIO was awesome. Loved it for 5 years.
Last year they fired the XM staff and turned off the XM Channels - and replaced them with Sirius versions.
Sirius is top 40 radio. Repetitive. Unimaginative. Low variety.
I was so disappointed. I felt like I had lost my best friend.
I had 3 radios and within a month canceled all.
greggwsmith @ Jun 18th 2009 8:42AM
I downloaded it but without Howard and Fox News or NFL/MLB I will not keep it. The whole reason Sirius is still alive is not available so why bother?
Jeff @ Jun 18th 2009 9:14AM
I should've read the comments on here before I downloaded the app. I wouldn't have downloaded this and waste my time! No Howard! Really? What is the point? Sirius XM please tell me!!! They said "Sirius & XM offer all of the channels for which we have mobile performance rights. For that reason, certain channels may be available on your satellite radio or online radio service may not be available on a mobile device like the iPhone." That's Total B.S.!
Jeff @ Jun 18th 2009 9:20AM
No Howard, and not to sound too redneck, but no NASCAR either? WTF? Why would you keep channels out of the app? Get rid of those BS channels and lets get some good channels. I will probably not update to the premium unless they update the channel listing. Epic Retards.......
The Fuzz 53 @ Jun 18th 2009 12:07PM
No Stern, so who gives a shit?
The real fucking question is who's the asshole here? Sirius for thinking it will hurt Stiletto sales, or those fucking jerkoffs at AT&T (you know, the idiots that can get fucking picture messaging to work on their most popular phone while every other carrier on the planet can) not wanting to actually invest in their shitty network to support the amount of bandwith it could use up.
I'm calling Stern on Monday to get to the bottom of this.
The Rob @ Jun 18th 2009 1:52PM
No Howard...NO THANKS!!!!
One of the biggest chokes since Asunte Samuel dropped the interception to be undefeated. Very nice Sirius/XM
J-Yo @ Jun 18th 2009 2:29PM
Jesus... another $3 a month? WTF? If we already shell out $$/month, and we can already listen online, why do we have to pay more to listen on the iPhone? Sucks....
Tiffany @ Jun 18th 2009 4:20PM
Glad I read these comments before downloading! No Howard, no download! With so many FREE music apps, why would anyone pay additional on top of their monthly subscription to acccess via mobile?
I have been using Pocket-Tunes to play streaming Sirius for a couple of months now (you need your Internet subscription to S-XM) and it works like a charm for Howard 100. Unfortunately, with bone-headed business decisions like this, after Howard leaves, they will run themselves out of business.
rytr23 @ Jun 18th 2009 9:42PM
hmm.. I'm betting they couldn't afford Hoo- Hoo's demand for more $ for a "new medium" - Sirius will be gone before you know it.
speaking of Howie, has anyone heard of him in the last few years?
Sirius has been an Epic Fail since day 1. Its a shame they took XM down with them.
Philly Z! @ Jun 19th 2009 5:06AM
No Howard WTF!!!
Someone's gotta call in about this! Cause the amount of iPod & iPhones is more then sirius and XM radios put together, they already need a new Sirius XM udate to this app or a sperate Howard and mature radio app so we can get some uncensored fun!!!
King_Of_AVIs @ Jul 6th 2009 6:53PM
there is a free browser for windows mobile phones that will let you listen to everything sirius online has to offer. I have an htc touch hd and I listen to howard on the regular for free as well as check out you tube. I won't say because I am afraid big brother is listening, but if you are smart enuff with google you can find certain things. good luck.
