LG Tritan brings QWERTY, touch, and trademarkable misspellings to Alltel
Ready to take advantage of that new one-year contract offer from Alltel? If you are -- and you're lucky enough to live in one of the markets the carrier still serves in the wake of Verizon's acquisition -- you might want to take a good, hard look at the just-announced LG Tritan, a slide-out QWERTY set with decent specs and a killer price. For $79.99 on contract after rebate, you're getting a 3 megapixel cam, touchscreen, EV-DO Rev. A, GPS, a "full" browser (which we're hoping means HTML), and a tricky right-aligned d-pad that may or may not be awesome in practice. Too bad it's only available in 91 market areas, eh?

GAH,
Its got the same old pants never to be updated (via firmware upgrade for needed patches) OS on these LG phones.
Its about time they ditched that crap, and upgraded it or went for Android!!!

Hi all, I got a chance to see a demo LG Tritan and it’s a really cool phone. I heard from a U.S. Cellular rep. that it should be in the store sometime this week. I have the Samsung Delve and I can’t wait to return it so I can get the LG Tritan. I was told it has Yahoo Messaging and IM Messaging.
someone create a site for the LG Tritan, http://www.LG-Tritan.com check it out when you have time.

Well, I have had mine for few days now. No matter that it is proprietary or not, it rocks!
Auto focus 3mp camera, auto zoom, rapid click for sports, 3gp camcorder means apple friendly video!
4 desktops which slide at the touch of a finger. email, gmail, yahoo mail, you name it mail.
all in all (And I coould go on!) it's a great phone at a great price!
