We've gotten word from a solid source that AT&T will be lowering prices on its two hottest BlackBerry models tomorrow, the recently-launched
Curve 8900 and the
Bold. Presently, the devices run $199.99 and $299.99 on contract after rebate, respectively -- but tomorrow you'll be looking at $149.99 and $199.99. Our understanding is that the pricing is only for a limited time, but with an unprecedented onslaught of high-end smartphones dropping both on AT&T and its competitors this summer, we wouldn't be surprised to see these new prices become semi-permanent.

"... the pricing is only for a limited time ... ."
Even if this time-limited price honestly has absolutely no correlation with Saturday's Palm Pre launch with Sprint, the timing is still curious.
Well, that's business. I'd do the smae thing if I were them.

if im in the 30 day trial period, can i get that $100 back?

I would ask for an account credit, if possible. Otherwise it'll be a $20 restock fee to return and rebuy the same phone.

Very curious .... it's almost as though they're preparing for the beast (Iphone 3.0) they're about to release in July, while making as much profit as possible with devices that are not doing as well as expected. Just a hunch.

@Joshua...I would undo the entire transaction. Alternatively, have your account credited $100, BEFORE you agree to keep it. Otherwise, as I said, Return the equipment, go back in tomorrow and save yourself a bill. :D
@Shawn: Not within the 30 days???
@robert: You are correct, sir. ;) Plus, a slew of new Berrie's are making their way to AT&T in late Q3, and Q4. The Magnum one is on my list. Along with the darn iPhone 3.0. (prolly just a couple months, and then, make bank! :D )
