AT&T expects to sell Palm Pre when Sprint's exclusivity ends
We've heard in the past that the Palm Pre would be available at other carriers "next year" sometime after Sprint's exclusivity period is up, and now we have a vague verbal confirmation from AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson that he "sees" AT&T grabbing hold of the Pre once it's available. The remarks were made today at the D7 conference. If this pans out, it fits with rumblings we've heard of the Eos being AT&T's low-end, Centro-style webOS device, with the Pre snapping up the higher end.

I love how the AT&T has a comparison chart that bags the Pre but still plans to pick up the phone.
And yeah, I think the Pre would lose some of its appeal by not being on a Sprint Everything plan.

does this mean that if and when I want to use sling mobile player on AT&T's Pre, it will also be wi-fi only?

what I find hilarious is that they go on to say that the pre is not a world phone because of a lack of GSM and therefore does not work overseas. Interestingly, Canada counts as overseas for virtually all carriers, including AT&T. -_- Wow, I used to think that our Canadian carriers were stupid and underhanded... oh how wrong I was.
I'm fully aware that when they say overseas, most people think Europe, Africa, and Asia. But it's also come to mean a number of the countries in the Carribean. While I don't know them all off the top of my head, I know there is actually a fairly decent list of countries (some actually quite travelled) that use CDMA. With that really being their only half-decent argument for an "advantage" iPhone over the Palm Pre... I think it's safe to say most of this list was just AT&T trying to keep people from dropping their expiring contracts (or dropping out of their contracts altogether) and moving over to Sprint just because of the Pre and that lovely "Everything" plan... which I am quite jealous of here in Canada. Goodness knows a plan like that would really save me a bundle and a half.

What sea or ocean must I cross to get to Canada?
