So there's a new build of the 9530's firmware floating around; this is pretty much a weekly occurrence and not necessarily anything to get terribly excited about (though we're sure the more enterprising Storm owners out there are going to want to upgrade). Here's the thing, though: we've recently been told by a very well-connected source that Verizon
rejected 141 because of one issue alone, and was already testing a replacement for it that was "still in the 140 range." That would mean that it'd have to be somewhere between 142 and 149 -- and yes, fellow mathematicians, 148 meets that requirement. Given the countless delays and the fact that Verizon has already rejected at least two firmwares, we wouldn't count on this happening any time soon -- if at all -- but it's a nice, hope-filled target to shoot for.

I have already made my decision. When the new iPhone comes out. Bye POS Storm.

......yeah sure.
Just how many times have we seen these "leaked" storm firmware and each time has been a disappointment.

The people that are still using the ancient firmware and none of the leaked ones are in for a MASSIVE update.... whenever or if ever it arrives from Verizon/Blackberry.

I'm still using the ancient firmware, and I can't wait for an update, I honestly just dont want to mess with something not fully supported. I'll deal with it until it comes out.
Honestly, I'm not too happy verizon is coming out with the Storm 2 next month, when they havent even released a new update for this damn phone in a while.
I'm sure the new Iphone or the Pre will do just nicely.

if you wanted an iphone, you should have gotten an iphone.
I've ran just about every leak since they started coming out, and .148 is so far the best there has been. IMHO, of course. Each has had their own little inconsistencies, but this one should go official barring anything outlandish... I've so far come across NOTHING wrong with this one.

The Iphone at the time of the Storm release didnt do some pretty major stuff. With the release of 3.0, it will pretty much shore things up on the feature list, in addition to the possibility of new hardware.
Chances are I'll be heading back there anyway. The whole reason I jumped from an Iphone to begin with, was no mms, no navigation, no video, no copy paste, shitty camera. That's going to be fixed for the most part, I guess we'll see how well its implemented.

Hey now.... everyone is so upset about how launch went... do you really think that VZW will make that mistake twice??? Heck no, they want it as close to perfect as possible to show people that the phone really is great. Now... when you update.... you won't think... Wow! Another flop of an update.
Great move VZW and if it works you could finally save the Blackberry Storm.

I flashed this already, and I would be very shocked if this doesn't go official.

Way off topic... What's that wallpaper in the photo?

I stood in line on the first day the Storm came out. I don't want an IPhone. I've been frustrated with the software, but I've realized that the idea behind the technology is not a bad one, so I've been waiting on updates. Fix the software, and you got a decent product. Well...I installed 148 a few days ago, and I have a new appreciation for my phone. Anyone who hasn't installed it is making a serious error. Don't get me wrong...it still isn't perfect, but 148 is the way to go. It makes my phone a functional and usable tool for my life.
