BlackBerry Curve 8900 comes to AT&T this Friday for $199
AT&T has just announced that the Curve 8900 -- which it had quoted for an "early summer" release -- will be made available both online and in stores starting this Friday. Interested parties who are adding a line or are eligible for a fully discounted upgrade should come equipped with a money clip bearing approximately $200 worth of dead presidents (not including tax) or a credit card with enough cap space to get the job done -- just don't expect any 3G out of the deal. Bold or Curve -- tough choice, isn't it?

The Bold has been so good to me. The Curve is fresh though. I'm going to stick with what got me here.

I prefer no 3G. I use my blackberry for e-mails only. Long as this has good battery life I'm happy.

We just got in our first shipment of AT&T Blackberry Curve 8900's. I have a few customers who have been waitong on their way down to my store.
The screen is awesome, it feels better than than the curve, the battery door is better than the Bold. great line up:
8310 $99
8900 $199
9000 $299
I am not giving up my Bold, just yet, but it is a nice improvment over the 8310.

hehe I've been enjoying my Curve now for two months on the much better company that is T-Mobile. Glad for your AT&T folks to finally get it, but I prefer staying away from the Death Star ;-)

Really nice phone, not nearly as nice as my Bold though,The lack of 3G is a deal killer for me, for those that dont want or need 3G is a nice phone and is cheaper than a Bold.

what the hell you need 3G on bb for that is meant mostly for emailing and lightweight web surfing?
elgee02 @ May 20th 2009 11:46PM
Oh my God.... did you just seriously ask why a PDA type device meant for email and web surfing would need 3G?!?!?!
I'm going to be blunt here... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!
"Lightweight web browsing"? Really? No, lightweight web browsing is what you do on a dumbphone.
Go slap yourself.

at&T said no more 3G phones, and it IS hard to find any on their plentiful selection. This is a business move, but a good one. T-Mobile's "Hit phone" is no longer exclusive. It's a blow to T-Mo. (hey, that s*it rhyme').
@Hammad: Ever heard of SLINGPLAYER??? or streaming radio??? or any other video? tethering ?? lol
Sling on everyone else. My Bold is incredible even compared next to the iPhone 3G. Although Slinging on the iPhone is HAWT! :D:D
