Samsung Jack comes to AT&T on May 19, $99.99 on contract
The BlackJack II's been looking a little long in the tooth for a while now, and it's been made pretty clear that the Epix isn't the direct replacement -- so what is? Behold the i637 Jack (not to be confused with the... uh, Jack), which has just been made official with a 3.2 megapixel camera and video recording, AGPS, WiFi, microSD expansion, 256MB of RAM, triband HSDPA / quadband EDGE, and the all-too-typical QVGA display. Like its forebears, the Jack naturally features a full QWERTY keyboard; it'll launch with Windows Mobile 6.1 but will be fully upgradeable to 6.5. Look for it in stores on May 19 for $99.99 on a new two-year contract after rebate. AT&T's already got a unit (not to say that should come as any surprise) and they're showing it off on video -- check it out after the break.

i was thinking the exact same thing. i had a Q9c before my Treo and this phone is almost a splitting image of it.

256MB of RAM... wow really? what applications would this thing be running to require that much memory? It doesn't seem like this thing is meant to be much of an entertainment or multimedia phone.

well i personally wish all phone would have more memory. nothing is more irritating than my 128MB RAM Treo quitting applications when i'm trying to do something involving a couple apps. plus memory is pretty cheap now so i can't see it affecting the end consumer much in the retail price anyway.

Amazing ripoff of Motorola Q. Samsung must have hired the same designer

Wow. So is this basically the non-slider version of the Propel Pro? The Jack is kinda underwhelming in that sense. I think the only selling points are the thin/narrow form factor, and the larger keys.

This is a ripoff. Clearly a ripoff. The original blackjack is much more unique in design terms (but arguable ergonomics) and the motorola q9 is a design masterpiece - the best keyboard I have seen so far on a mobile device, slim and powerful. However, having both GPS and wi-fi on bard this one is not a bad option at all. The d-pad is ridiculous - the circular one is much better. And QVGA - come on.
Winmo standard is very very good OS, far better than blackberry and symbian and the only thing I can see as a con here is the screen resolution - it's archaic. Not a 2009 device.
