Rogers nabs HTC Dream and HTC Magic for Canada's first look at Android
Rogers is launching both the HTC Dream and the HTC Magic in June of this year, snapping a "cold spell" of Android-lessness up north. The phones will Rogers exclusives in Canada, and it's one of the first spots we've heard of -- other than the fairly inevitable T-Mobile USA -- to be getting the elusive HTC Magic outside of Vodafone. Otherwise details are scarce, but Rogers promises more information soon, and has an online countdown for "the revolution" on June 2nd. How polite.

This would have been great 6 months ago. Now that Samsung's Android phone is on the way, I can't get too excited about this. On the upside, maybe this means we'll see more of these phones on 1900/850.

Cool!
Kind of late with the G1 (Or Dream I suppose), but at least they got the Magic pretty early. Before the I7500 was confirmed I was eying the Magic (Black) as an unlocked purchase but now that the Magic is actually going to be locally available (and pretty soon!), I may end up going with the Magic after all.
I imagine they would be 850/1900. In this day in age it would seem like a waste to not allow 3G capable phones to run on that network.

Hopefully with will push the other carriers to nab the samsung android phones, because you know that the other carriers (Bell, Telus) are looking for an android phone to compete.

Excellent! I've been using a T-Mobile G1 for a few months now and am very happy with the device. Hopefully switching to an official Rogers phone will give me the opportunity to use the Dream with 3G instead of being limited to EDGE.
