Motorola's i465 Clutch coming to Mike in Canada

Boost Mobile won't be the only iDEN network to launch Motorola's first QWERTY iDEN set -- according to a leaked screenshot, it looks like Telus Mobility's Mike wants in on the action north of the border, too. The i465 Clutch is a low-end device that concentrates on messaging capabilities -- a common theme across carriers and network technologies these days -- and we're not terribly surprised to see Mike make a play for it. Of course, here's the million-dollar question for you, Mike users: how's texting for you? Fast? Slow? Unbearable? Intermittent?

If Mike uses an SMS gateway on its iDEN network, then messaging should be just as reliable as on any other network. The problem with iDEN messaging in the U.S., Chris, is that Boost/Nextel use MMS only, provided by a third party company that has never managed to get its act together.

SouthernLINC is a U.S. iDEN provider that uses SMS for texting, and it works just fine. It's not the air interface that's the problem.

Telus use sms interface for sms and mms for mms ;p
The mms fonction work great ... better than telus cdma !
But i prefer my old i877 to text more than 5000 message in the month ;p
