Back in late March and early April, when we
first heard the terrifying tale of two shifty, hapless carrier pigeons intercepted while attempting to smuggle cellphone parts to inmates in a high-security Brazilian prison, we thought it was merely an isolated incident. Well, now that another pigeon has been caught -- this time outside a Columbian prison with a tiny suitcase full of cellphone components strapped to its back -- we have to face the truth:
carrier pigeons are probably evil by nature. The Columbian authorities say that the pigeons are likely being raised inside the prison, then sent to the outside to collect the contraband handsets before doing what pigeons do best -- returning home. The officials also admit they are relatively powerless to combat the problem, though the intercepted bird is now imprisoned at a local animal shelter. So... how long until a
different carrier pigeon is intercepted trying to sneak a teensy
KRZR into the incarcerated, winged criminal?

The real news would be someone trying to smuggle a pigeon inside a cell phone.

Ummm, you're telling me max security prison guards are powerless against a bunch of birds? Hello ppl. If the birds are being raised in the prisons GET A CAT! Phew crisis averted at with a price tag under $50 that's pretty impressive.

Cell phone parts? Why not just smuggle in one of those tiny Pantech C3s?

well because they are board and they want an extra thing to do..Think of the cellphone parts as puzzle pieces.

this happened in the Republic of Colombia, not in the District of Columbia. hence, you shouldn't call it "Columbian prison", it's a "Colombian prison". You should update the article.
Ok... so the pigeon gets you the phone parts, you assemble it, you call your little brother and tell him why you should NEVER pick up a soap bar in the showers, and eventually your battery dies... how exactly are you going to charge it? I seriously doubt you'll find an electric outlet in your cell. Maybe with the Samsung Blue Earth? altough the place where this prison is located is cold and cloudy as shit (Cómbita, Boyacá), so good luck charging it ... and yes if you hadn't realized by now, I'm Colombian (not "Columbian" :P )
I wouldn't recomend the cat, since Colombian criminals could corrupt anyone, even the most righteous cat... before you know it the cat would be hunting innocent pigeons and planting evidence to frame them. The best solution would be a signal jammer... that way not even the prison guards would be able to sell a phone call.

Unbelievable, those are the thing that only happen in Colombia, and please engadget, update the article, Colombia is a country.
