More designer WinMo 6.5 themes get pictured
Not into that Mizrahi theme that Microsoft showed off for Windows Mobile 6.5 a few days ago? No worries -- there are others in the pipeline, too, and odds are you'll be able to find something you like in here (either that, or your tastes are badly misaligned with the world's designerati, apparently). istartedsomething reports that Microsoft has roped in Ron Arad, Vera Wang, Rock and Republic, and Diane von Furstenberg among others to beef up WinMo's fashion cred, and judging from the leaked wallpapers, they're moving in the right direction. 'Course, no number of pretty backgrounds can counter an aging kernel, but let's take this thing one step at a time, shall we?

so.......backgrounds = themes now? everything but the background is the same!
David @ Apr 6th 2009 6:41PM
I couldn't agree more! I mean seriously, these's so called themes look more than nothing but just a background. Hasn't Microsoft learn about the different GUI's that companies use on top of their bland default theme?

The hi lights in menus also change color but that is about it. These are all ugly to me and I go with my own background.
slamEVIL @ Apr 6th 2009 3:03PM
@android_dream: it looks like the highlights are a darker shade that is consistent in all "themes" and multiplies the color behind it. like the task bar in Vista.

I don't know how much they paid someone to create that pink plad but it really gives me a headache to look at... but yay art i guess...
soydeedo @ Apr 6th 2009 1:27PM
I think my favorite is the on on the bottom row, farthest to the right - the white one. So simple. So elegant.
slamEVIL @ Apr 6th 2009 2:50PM
that took me a while...you're good!

The kernel is flexible, aging is just a matter of fact.. I had and iphone and came right back to windows mobile where i belong

i agree completely. never owned an iPhone personally so i won't compare (used friends), but in my personal experience with WinMo, the only thing it's really lacking is some of the flashiness of some of the newer OSes. as far as functionality goes, my WinMo phone can do just about anything any other phone can do function wise, and it's pretty old (Treo 700wx). what Windows Mobile lacks in style, it certainly makes up for in flexibility.

I'm sorry, but I hate the the DVF background and logo.
Kwikit @ Apr 6th 2009 2:31PM
Haha!
So sublime. -.-
Kwikit @ Apr 6th 2009 2:32PM
Sorry, that was meant for Soydeedo. :/
dirk long @ Apr 6th 2009 2:37PM
Wow, all those are ugly.
slamEVIL @ Apr 6th 2009 2:59PM
did i miss something? is 6.5 going to arrive first at vodafone May 4th 2009???
PhilR8 @ Apr 6th 2009 5:28PM
April 5th, 2009. It's a custom ROM based on a leaked 6.5 build. I have a similar one on my Sprint Touch Pro.

That Titanium today is a joke... TF3D is 1000 times better than that. Probably Microsoft should just buy TF3D from HTC.
mindfrost82 @ Apr 6th 2009 4:48PM
A lot of people using the WM6.5 ROMs really like Titanium. I think both of them have their benefits. I've been using it for a while now and I can't really see myself going back to TF3D, although I haven't tried the new TF3D2 yet.
PhilR8 @ Apr 6th 2009 5:29PM
I'm loving Titanium, for the most part. Haven't used TF3D in a week.
Ri @ Apr 6th 2009 4:47PM
they recruited bunch of high end fashion designer just design those fugly wallpaper? those aren't theme first of all.
PhilR8 @ Apr 6th 2009 4:52PM
Hey, I like most of them. I'm running a 6.5 ROM on my Sprint Touch Pro right now and I'm actually using the pink plaid one. It looks a lot better in person, I think.
xECK29x @ Apr 6th 2009 5:28PM
My Raphael ROM on XDA uses both TF3D2 and Titanium, A lot of my users still stick with Titanium.
Dave @ Apr 7th 2009 12:07AM
i tried titanium on my touch diamond, but I got some random resets and the media player was acting kinda wonky. Back to tf3d for me!
