BlackBerry App World now live
As expected, the BlackBerry App World has just launched for US, Canada and the UK. If your software's updated to 4.2 and you've got a trackball / touch screen and PayPal account, head on over to RIM's website to download. Tell us, is it everything you thought it would be?

Very Slick. I downloaded Word Waster it's a cool cheap game I liked. Only problem is it just supports bold and storm at this time.

I had the same problem initially with my Verizon Curve when I entered from the BlackBerry mobile homepage. But then I emailed myself the download link from the BlackBerry App World PC site (http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp#tab_tab_download) and that sent me this link: http://www.blackberry.com/appworld/download which worked right away.

does anyone know what % cut the developers are getting from the revenue? 80% i read somewhere but not sure it that is correct.

App world is off to a pretty smooth start! But what will really be interesting is the affect it will have on RIM stock. Interested? Try predicting the affect at http://elabexchange.com an academic based prediction market.

I love appworld, it's great!!!!! i downloaded myspace, facebook, mlb. I love iheartradio, i love it!!! listen to all my favorite shows!!!

@Barry, those apps you mention are just regurgitated apps already available elsewhere. Don't blow App World out of proportion.
I'm glad App World gives consumers one stop shopping. We also can't forget that apps are the new 'ringtones' and apparently in demand... RIM better get another 1000 quality apps (not web links masquerading as apps) in App World.. and quick... Because even Andriod has a growing list of applications in Android Market and it has a weak user base (is it even released?). My question is: Why did Blackberry wait so long to launch an application market place for it's huge user base?
