White Nokia E71 arrives in America... on Cincinnati Bell
Whoa, wait up, what's this? On the very same day that Nokia's white E71 invaded North America via Rogers Wireless, one of America's least known carriers is following suit for those in and around the great state of Ohio. For reasons unknown, Cincinnati Bell (of all carriers) has managed to pick up the suddenly hot color of this here QWERTY-packin' smartphone, and best of all, it's available for free on a two-year agreement. What's next? Mexico getting this for -$100 after rebate?
[Thanks, Jordan]
Update: You can also get this bad boy unlocked, if you're so inclined. Still, though, seriously -- much love, Cincinnati Bell. You're a prince among carriers for launching this for free on contract. Thanks, Chris!

Great price.
I'm impressed.
Hopefully ATT can match.

A few clarifications
- This is no contract. (Cincinnati Bell doesn't do contracts - if you cancel your service withing 90 days you have to return the phone or pay full price to keep it, but no fees of any kind)
- This phone (and all Cincinnati Bell phones) are unlocked!
(If you are wondering - Cincinnati Bell uses at&t's network when outside of the Southwest Ohio Region)
Crazy Good Deal.

i live in md and have at&t
does that mean i could buy one and still use it on my at&t service?

first of all.
all cincinnati bell phones are not unlocked. completely myth.
its true they offer this phone free after rebate with no contract. but also no 3g...(whats the point?)
cincinnati bell's lowest deposit is $400. haha a1 credit anyone??? and since they have no contracts their credit
requirements are a lot stricter. and check out the price on upgrade. even a customer who has been with
cincinnati bell for years... $499....hahahaha cincinnati bell is a joke. you have to keep the phone for 90 days but
if you don't keep the plan with unlimited data untill you get the rebate back then you are out that too. be careful guys

Actually, thats quite wrong.
Only recently did we switch our credit requirements. Before, it was almost everyone that could get service with us, and the bottom few had $400 deposits. The tiers go as such
5 lines no deposit
3 lines - $100 deposit
5 lines - $400 deposit
2 lines - $200 deposit (used mainly for new-credit's or for those who had a previously written off account with us)
Before it was a piece of cake, and now, its a bit harder

well i know for a fact the e71 is unlocked....and i have never met anyone who ever had to pay a deposit with cincinnati bell especially if you have a home phone or internet through them... at&t and verizon the deposit whores... im with tmobile and love it however when i was with cincinnati bell there coverage was good i just wanted better phone choice and at that time all they had were lame bb pearls as high end phones.. best buy is selling the phone for 450 un locked if you buy it from cin bell you can get it for like 240 (3 months of service and data) and you will still get your rebate back because i 90 days is plenty time to get your money back and have the plan.. i was contemplating doing this ... probably not tho
Justin ( not the previous idiot) @ Mar 20th 2009 12:03PM
Um well cincy bell does do outrageous deposits for one, for two, this phone is not worth it on a carrier that gives garbage data service, and if you are outside the major metro area you are in ROAM...and guess what guys, roaming is not free on Cincy bell...they are a competitor with Revol, another no contract set price carrier, but Cincy bell has plans, they are not maintained to have this powerful phone to be usable by general public.
however i also work at best buy mobile and we have been selling this phoen unlocked for months, its much better on ATT, and maybe if Tmobile gets 3g in ohio it would be good with that too
until then, this is a joke...
Adam @ Mar 29th 2009 8:14PM
Actually, again, you are wrong Justin.
All cincinnati bell plans come with the following:
FREE mobile to mobile (within the network of course)
FREE Caller id, voicemail, 3-way calling
FREE ROAMING (anywheres in the continental united states)
Heck, for a small fee ($10 i beleive), you can even make calls in canada and have it use up your minutes instead of roaming charges.
FREE international roaming (You must meet IRE requirements, 6 months tenure without being suspended for nonpay)
