We've stumbled across a...
ahem, major national retailer's stock sheet for the next few weeks, and things are looking up -- particularly on AT&T, where we'll have a couple of long-awaited releases. Let's start with the unknown, though: there's a "Jackfrost" due at the end of the month, and without even a manufacturer listed, it's impossible to know what this thing could possibly be. More importantly, though, the
long-rumored LG Zenon (which spikes the less-trademarkable "Xenon" spelling we'd seen before) is slated for mid-April, and the even longer-rumored
E71x -- which may simply be known as the
E71 by the time it launches -- should drop by at the beginning of next month. Moving over to Big Red, that Nokia 7205 Intrigue that's been kicking around in spy shots
since the early part of '08 might finally launch in just a few days' time. All told, we have a lot of emotional closure around the corner with these launches, don't we?
[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

With all the sweet phones that Nokia makes, Verizon gets a craptacular 7205 flip phone?
Why does VZW only have 4 decent phones?

Correction: Number of cool phones verizon sells = 0
I am honestly up for contract on ATT and was considering verizon, but then i looked at the smart phone selection and laughed as I rubbed my iPhone, e71, Bold and unlocked G1 on my bare chest. Why you ask? Because with GSM technology i can use whatever phone i want bitches!

When signing up for FiOS, they said if we moved our cell phones over as well, we'd get some super deal. Then I looked on the website for the kinds of phones they carry.... Good lord. Clearly, they bet the farm on the Blackberry Storm. Yick.

mack @ Mar 6th 2009 11:55AM
why is the nokia n79 listed?
taylor @ Mar 6th 2009 12:56PM
that would most definitely be from best buy....in case anyone was wondering. all the skus are right in line where they are right now.
Richard Glitter @ Mar 6th 2009 2:21PM
OK, Just bought an E71 off Amazon the other day when it was down to $280 shipped.
Anyway, does anyone have any speculation on UNSUBSIDIZED price from AT&T? (i already used my subsidy on HTC Fuze). If it's going to be about the same, I might just return my E71 and wait for the AT&T one with their ROM.
Big Poppa @ Mar 6th 2009 4:29PM
I would rather have the unlocked unbranded E71. Who knows what functions AT&T will disable, or how much bloat they will add to the devices OS.
Also, with an unlocked E71, you are able to **legitimately** use the less expensive Unlimited Data feature ($15), rather than the more expensive PDA Personal feature ($30).
Drew @ Mar 6th 2009 7:07PM
The unsubsidized price is $399.99 and it is a Best Buy SKU, at least for the mock one.

E71 on April 1st? Hopefully it won't be a joke—need to convince some disbelievers that Symbian is the better than the other stuff they've been using.
That said, I've been using the E71 since July, so this device is old (=P)
Relax Mon Jamaica MeCrazy @ Mar 8th 2009 1:32AM
I work at bestbuy and I just checked all the skus. They're from bestbuy alright. E71 shows available on 3/29/09, but we'll see.
Spiel @ Mar 9th 2009 8:53AM
I already own the E71, which I was happy to get UNLOCKED and UNBRANDED in white. I would never consider getting the AT&T version with crapware on it and not being able to use it overseas.
Anyway, the important question is will we be getting the latest firmware with Feature Pack 2? It would seem like a long shot, considering the white NAM version still doesn't get the latest V2 firmware. But here is to hoping.
