HTC throws firmware update at Touch Pro, now even more "betterer"

Well here's some welcome news, HTC released an update for the Touch Pro to help band-aid a few minor quibbles a couple days ago. Listed are fixes for auto-focus not auto-focusing at times, preview screen going wrong after taking a pic, TouchFLO 3D crashes, and "The display of TouchFLO 3D sometimes may appear cracked." gets in there, too. This patch seems to be carrier agnostic and as such comes with warnings about wiping your provider's customizations, so it may be wise to wait til your local gets it out to you. Failure to back your set up, read the instructions carefully or to tap your heels three times while upgrading may make us point and laugh at you, so consider yourself warned.

My Touch Pro doesn't have any of those problems. Besides, if I were going to flash a Rom, I'd go with something from XDA or PPCGeeks rather than go with another stock rom, improved as it may be...

Certainly not for AT&T phones. Typed in my SN and got the following:
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.

I'm on Verizon Wireless in California, I got exactly the same message - "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device." when I put in my s/n.

I think this only applies to european versions

I would rather keep my custom ROM...instead of being handcuffed by what YOUR carrier wants YOUR device to be able to do.
Eric @ Feb 24th 2009 3:40AM
yeah, cause you can't install all of that stuff after the fact anyways

Been out a few weeks if you follow XDA. It's well-cooked now too.

"so it may be wise to wait til your local gets it out to you."
I'm on Verizon so I can expect this Update some time in 2011.

stock roms aren't all that bad, you know? i'm on my touch diamond now, on my stock updated cdma rom. i've tried 3 different roms from ppc geeks, and all of them were good for specific things, but the updated rom is the most stable so far. Unless speed is an issue (which it isn't on diamond), I wouldn't recommend most cooked roms.

I have gone the site to update but they keep saying
The service is temporarily under maintenance and will be back shortly.
We apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused. Please try again later.
I hate this phone and i thought this might help but after two days of the same message i am getting a IPhone.
