AT&T suspends Quickfire sales amid 'performance' problems
It's funny that AT&T would leave the low-cost Quickfire hanging out to dry for this long before pulling it from shelves, but then again, the exact same thing happened with the Glyde over on Verizon a few months back, so we're not surprised. It seems the carrier's would-be Sidekick killer "is not meeting AT&T's minimum performance expectations" -- whatever that means -- and sales reps have been asked to pull all three colors from sale immediately. Customers demanding exchanges are to be offered substitutions, so for the short term, it looks like there may not be a good way to get your Quickfire fix from AT&T directly -- only question is, how long will it be out of commission, and will it matter with a sequel already in the works? I just sold my Lime Green Quickfire on eBay and I didn't find anything wrong with the phone. Its a cheap touch screen phone and I'm sure we will see many more of them.

Who the hell honestly thought that this thing could compete with the Danger! platform?

I knew this phone was a POS the day it came out. What happened to the lengthy months long testing process here AT&T? Besides the OS and keyboard sucking to begin with, the touchscreens frequently don't respond, and the radio is awful with calls and texts. this thing was a huge disappointment. this phone was a prime example of the quality htc brings over pcd.
drannan @ Feb 24th 2009 9:55AM
You are exactly right, youngcalihottie.
I refused to sell this phone in my store b/c I could tell how poorly this phone was constructed. The UI looked like a counterfit. I think At&t rushed this one out with the 3 other "txters" for Christmas.
I like the other txters but I think the Matrix is gonna have problems with the slide.. just like the Duo, did.

i bought this phone dec 1, 2008 about a month later the phone stopped working and the touch gave out so i got a replacement then 3weeks later the replacement stopped working so i went back in and they refused to give me a different phone until it was my third so i am on my third quickfire now and the screen is not working again. Im kinda happy that this phone went on recall becasue it sucked. I now can finally get a different phone! Even if it hadnt gone on recall i still would tell people not to get it. All of my friends thought this phone was awesome and i was like um no it sucks i went through 2 within less than 2months. I have not heard of one person who liked this phone for how it actually runs

I got this phone Febuary 2, 2009 and its ridiculous, and at&t doesn't like to deal with my issues I'm having with this phone, I never found out about the recall or I would of sent mine back for sure. AT&T told me somthin about a recall, but after speaking to MANY representitves that hour and a half I was on the phone, I've heard many different stories, a few told me there was a recall and a few told me the recall was fixed. They are sending me out a replacement one because my touchscreen went CRAZY! and my bluetooth never worked the phone freezes up all the time and I payed $300(w/out a contract) for this piece of shit... I don't recommend.
Jessica @ Apr 13th 2009 10:55AM
Yup, its a POS... And they keep sending me new phones. I don't want another crappy, defective phone. Its so frustrating, because when I try to use things on my phone, I have to tap fiffty million times to make it work. Dont buy this thing
Niles @ May 5th 2009 11:27PM
Yeah my screen turns white and I can't see what I'm texting. Sometimes everything is upside down on the phone, sometimes the buttons don't work, and it almost never holds a charge. As of right now I have a portable landline that half the time I can't even see whats going on. They're sending me a new one that I am sure will be just as shitty. :(

I got this phone for Christmas, and the touchscreen is horrible. It freezes up a lot. It is currently broke. about 3/4 of my screen is white. I took really good care of it, and I have never broken a phone before, I am mad that this Quickfire, is more like a Quick-rip off.
