So is
Vodafone's HTC Magic the same as T-Mobile's
G2? Could very well be, considering Google's little slip-up during a demo of its
offline Gmail support on mobile devices. What we have up there clearly ain't a Voda logo, and if our knowledge of T-Mobile logos around the world is accurate, this isn't a European T-Mobile logo, either -- it's straight-up Yankee. Would certainly make a ton of sense for this thing to shake out as the G2, and there's no shortage of folks holding out for a keyboardless Android device 'round there... so your move, T-Mob.

Considering how poorly Google kept the G1 a secret, I'm sure this is legit. Google doesn't seem to care too much about helping their partners keep new products a quiet.

Eh, everybody knows there's a G2 coming, so it's not much of a big deal if you ask me. Besides, the original G1 leaked months before and still sold like hotcakes (with crack baked into them). I'm looking forward to this.

This one definitely looks a lot sleeker. The G1 was their trial run and there are now so many Android apps avaialble that the G2 will benefit from.
Please include Stereo BT DUN or at least a standard headset jack for music. No bulky adapters!
T-Mobile should have their 3G network covering over 208 million POPS later this year so that will make this device much more palatable.

I frigglin holpe slow. I dont like the odd ball button, though... the old button style was enough for me, personally.

I have a prediction. I think the phone listed here as Memphis is actually the next Android Qwerty keyboard HTC phone. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=52811.
Someone said Android phones have a chin to allow for the trackball to be elevated. Notice this phone just like the G2 (Sapphire) has a circle right where the trackball would be. It also seems to have the 4 button configuration over the trackball as the G2 (Sapphire) does. and it also seems to have chins just like the G2
destroebl @ Feb 19th 2009 6:09PM
I think that was already assumed by all. The Hero, Sapphire and Memphis have been listed at other sites as being Android phones.
plh2034 @ Feb 19th 2009 6:39PM
If this is the G2 I say BLEH.
Google gets the ho hum HTC phones while WinMo pulls down the stunners
Ammon @ Feb 19th 2009 9:42PM
T-mobile's site also has the G1 listed as "Extremely Limited Supply" Are they already letting the G1 run out t o make room for the G2?
Rey @ Feb 19th 2009 10:43PM
i think its always been limited supplied since its been out, but im not sure can anyone confirm this ?
Joe @ Feb 21st 2009 11:41PM
Cupcake doesn't seem to have enough improvements for me to give up my G1--unless they improve the battery.
