Dell hasn't made an announcement, but it turns out that
CEOs love spilling each others' secrets -- and to that end, AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega has just mentioned during a Mobile World Congress panel that Dell has "announced they're entering the smartphone market." Maybe he got a bit confused about the announcement date or time -- or perhaps he's confusing the
countless rumors with official details -- but either way, all eyes should be on Round Rock, Texas for the next few hours (or days, or weeks, or months) to see if anything shakes out.

regardless of the chop job, if dell comes out with a dellphone, not only will it suck, it will suck with WinMo driving it. sorry, but in my experience, dell has managed to take every good idea out there related to computers and make it crappy. they're like a US version of a chinese ODM... just stamping out soulless, bland versions of mainstream products for less, with substandard quality and support. without their lucrative corporate contracts they would be bankrupt within 6 months.
michael dell is steve ballmer's bitch. so bring on more of the same in winmo phones, dell. the market isnt flooded with them yet.

I'd hope it is 3G so I can buy a Dell from AT&T to not use the monopolizing Apple iPhone 2G I just bought in January, also a good thing since I cannot worry to switch to 3G since Dell is my favorite computer company... Yee-Hah, here we go, :)!
