Visual Voicemail for BlackBerry Bold gets realer
So, those curious Visual Voicemail shots we saw last week? Evidently they weren't just some random effort in Photoshop. According to the Boy Genius Report, the new feature is indeed coming to AT&T's BlackBerry Bold, though an exact release date isn't disclosed. We're told it could be sooner rather than later for "at least some customers," so yeah, you're now free to get your hopes up just a wee bit.

After having Visual Voicemail on the iPhone for a year and half now, I don't think I could go back to regular voicemail. Good on them to bring it to the Bold.

@Mikey P: I'm interested in it, and will get the feature when it becomes available. (I'm assuming it's a separate feature?)
How is it that it benefits you so much, or are you just being braggadocios? ;) No dig. Just want a clear answer.
Cheers!

VM vs Visual VM is like VCR vs DVR. Once you have the latter, you never want to go back. Having messages downloaded to your phone, and being able to listen to them in any order, any time you want, is awesome. With vcr tape, to get to the middle of the movie, you have to fast forward until you are there. Regular VM, is much like that. Say you have 20 VMs in your box, and you want to listen to one in the middle of the pack. You need to call your VM box, then keep hitting buttons to skip a message until you arrive at the one you want. With visual VM, you just scroll to the one you want to hear, and hit play... much like a DVR.
I have an iPhone for 1.5 years, and that's the only thing I miss. AAMOF, my BB Bold does everything the iPhone does, but better... except for Visual VM.
